Do the Ruger SR40 and SR9 have the same polymer frame?

I just recently bought a Ruger SR40 and its polymer frame appears to be identical to the SR9 I own besides the serial number. It would make sense for Ruger to be able to use the same frame for another pistol as a cost saving measure.

The SR40 and SR9 mags slide and lock into each polymer frame?

Just curious.

Quite possible. Probably why Ruger states in their manual thar SR9 is rated for +P+ ammo.

I couldn't say for sure but would make a lot of sense, especially from a manufacturing standpoint, to have both frames the same.

Yes it is the same frame. It is cheaper to make one frame. If you look at the 9mm magazine they even make it the 40 width, but it has grooves pressed in the side which make "internal rails" to work with the narrower 9mm.
