Do You Advertise Your Gun Ownership

I don't really advertise, close friends know what I believe and what my interests are, but as JWarren said gun ownership in this area is assumed, but they don't know if or when I carry. But if the topic comes up I defend the second ammendment, and invite any newbies who are interested to the range
to some extent I think it should be known to others, but no details, how much, when and where

"Life's a bitch, why vote for one" bumper sticker
I like it...

Don't advertise my ownership. There is one guy at work who I have a lot of gun related conversations with who I trust and he trusts me not to share with other people what and how much we own.

My wife and I went to a local show recently. She has taught school for a long time so she knows everybody in our small town. She said her line just right...."Dave likes those old, rusty, military rifles" She even rolled her eyes a few times hehe

I have a small Ducks Unlimited sticker and a small CCA sticker on my car, and a Sig hat pin on my hat that I wear when fishing or hunting.

I am happy to talk to anyone who wants to talk about guns, but I don't usually bring it up.

Always thought tipping my hand before you met me was somewhat tacky myself. Unless it's snowboard stuff, my cargo box has oodles of resort stickers on it, no gun stuff, anywhere except in my home at the reloading bench and computer. If you're in my house, we probably already agree on guns.

Honestly, it depends... with some people that I KNOW will not take it well, I try to be as quiet as possible about it because I am not big on the whole debating/argument thing. It usually turns nasty fast. However, I can generally tell when someone is open minded or not. In that case, it may come up in conversation which is fine.

So basically, no. No stickers, hats, etc. - unless I am with other shooters. I don't advertise publicly but welcome questions and curious people who want to learn!

It's ashame that's the way it is. This is why I applaud all who DO advertise and spread the word. More power to you (and yes I thank you, because it's also more power to me and everyone else's 2nd amendment rights too!) I am just to much of a chicken about it now. Hopefully I will grow bolder though... Mom said that once you turn 40, you no longer give a rip what anyone thinks, hopefully it's true! ;) ?

Around here, gun ownership isn't advertised. It's assumed.

An NRA sticker on a truck is practically as common as inspection stickers.

Yeah, same thing here.

I do have a blog, but as far as advertising it on my person, clothes, car etc. I don't do that. I don't discuss guns with people at work either.

I'm not uber-secretive, but not uber-flashy either.

I have an NRA decal on my car. I live in a rural area, plenty of people hunt, and the NRA helps hunters too. So I don't think I shout "pro-2Aer with lots of kool gunz!" too much. Though I guess I do scream that I own at least ONE gun...

As gun owners, I feel that we ALL have a responsibility to support the 2nd Amendment, for OUR sake and the sake of FUTURE GENERATIONS. This does NOT mean we all have an obligation to leap up and counter every single 'anti' claim we come across, and be walking billboards for gun orgs or companies. But at the very least, give some cash to a pro-2A org if you can't personally spread the word yourself.

I don't put stickers on my cars or home but I do wear an NRA cap and I have a couple of NRA T shirts I wear.

Plus I have a Colt windbreaker I got a few years back.

The T shirt with "The 2nd Amendment is the original Homeland security" has gotten me a few comments of agreement.

Its nice to know there are a few like minded souls in California.

I remember walking past a neighbors house and seeing the bumper sticker "My President is Charlton Heston" or something to that effect - I never saw the guy but I know we'd get along.

I am as nondescript as a stop sign..No one notices me and I like it that way.

I have carried a concealed sidearm for over 40 years, and no one knows about it.

My wife are both former LEOs and carry all of the time, but no one including family has any inkling that we do.

Friends know I like guns and most of our conversations wind up about guns and shooting, but even they don't know whether I pack or not.

To those that don't know me, I'm just another bearded old coot on the down hill slide.

I've got VCDL and NRA stickers on my truck, car, and boat.

Why? Why not? I'm not ashamed of it.
Quite frankly, I do not want to make my vehicles targets of a thief who, when he sees my VCDL & NRA stickers, may decide to chance that there is a firearm in the glovebox or boot ... or that I may interrupt him while he is committing the felony and we both end up having a bad day, his much worse than mine.

My little village in Crook county, IL has almost 1000 FOID card holders, while I don't advertise outwardly on my person, or vehicle, I do know that I'm not alone.

Phone calls, letters, faxes, on a weekly basis to my elected representative's make's me visible on a different level though.

my adidas hat has a small "lapua" pin on it and my car has a ron paul sticker. those are as "out" as i get.

I don't advertise unless its already part of the conversation, but I certainly don't keep it secret. The only things on my truck are "Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association" and a small "US Air Force" sticker. I know there are at least 3 identical trucks rolling around base, so I definitely don't stick out. Nothing on the truck or on my clothes about guns, but those that know me know its no secret.

I have a small Hk sticker on the back of my truck.

I'm not ashamed to be a gun owner. I offer to take people to the range all the time. Most of my friends know I have guns and it doesn't bother me...

Edit: And I have a Hk lanyard keychain, too. One of my professors noticed and asked me what I shot. He shoots competitively too. I bet 99% of the people who see my Hk sticker and lanyard chain have no clue what it is, I'm not worried. Those who do know are fellow gun owners. Through talking with my professor in class I found out he carries too.

Gun Rack

I have a gun rack in the truck with a 22 LR (open sites) and a 30-30 Win. 94 Model (open sites) hangin..... Does that count???? Don't check my boots and britches, okay??? (BOOMER SOONER)

I have my NRA sticker on my truck, along with nascar stuff. Also wear some some shirts that have gun brand names. Talk guns at work alot with like minded people. Have gun related books on my desk at work. My range buddy is my co-worker. We take a lot of 1st timers to the range. Guns are my hobby and I enjoy it all, shooting, reloading, and casting. Black-powder,single action, levers, pumps and semi-autos. I like to hunt to.

This has been discussed many times, I have a RKBA sticker and a "Protected by S&W" sticker on my truck. I am not too afraid but its a good point that somebody could follow me home and steal stuff.

I'm a part of my school's firearms club from which I have recieved a t-shirt and card.
Glock and NRA sticker on my car.
A little glock keychain on my lanyard.
Plus, I'm not very shy about discussing my hobby with the other students.

I did have a springfield armory sticker on my car before I sold it. It was an american flag. wish I still had it. I would wear shirts with gun logos if I had them. I don't believe in covering your vehicle for reasons already stated above. Most people I talk to seem to change their views very quickly. Never thought my mother would change, but after the va tech shootings I started carrying again. She saw my gun, and I explained why it was there, her reaction startled me "we need to get something". I feel that the more people see that citizen gun ownership is a good thing, the longer we will have the right to protect ourselves, family, and community.

Someone here has suggested that they are ashamed to be a gun owner?

Sometimes, that's how it comes across to me. It sounds like some people will lie to others when asked if they have guns. If it's a person I know, I'm not going to be nervous to tell them that I do have guns. I won't tell them every detail but I'll probably invite them to the range with me if they're interested.

Maybe it's just me...
