Just wondering how many of you carry a reload when you are carrying a revolver and where you got the pouch/carrier. I'd like to get something belt mounted to hold a speed loader w/5 rounds of .38.

I usually have two speed loaders for whichever revolver I have with me
Used to use exclusively Safariland Comp2 speed loaders and their metal belt clips

Lately I have been buying
Maxfire Speedloaders from dillon - rubber one piece, secure and inexpensive
I like 'em (http://www.speedloaders.com/)

as too pouches, I have some leather and nylon ones but l tend these days to use something that doesn't scream gun so I have some bags I picked up for cheap at mega box store or china-mart during school supply days that you can drop them into and they unzip almost 3/4 way down - large enough to put other useful items in like a flash light. ;)

Oh and for moon clip guns S&W 25 for example I used to just slip half on oneside of my belt and leave half out the other side without problems when I used to wear a vest all the time.

I carry two speed loaders for my revlolver if I am camping/hiking/canoeing...but around town I just drop my 638 in my pocket and forget it is there.

In jeans I usually carry two speed strips in my offside back pocket. In cargo shorts or pants (shorts more often in AZ) I carry at least two speed loaders, if not more, in the offside cargo pocket.

Do the speed strips do a good job of retaining the bullets when loose in a pocket? I would be worried about them coming loose.

At least two. Read the other thread on here regarding .44 spl. speed strips. Make your own.

Don't worry about speed strips losing rounds while bouncing around in your pocket. Worry about getting them OUT when you need them. They're jammed in there pretty good. I prefer speedloaders, even if they are bulkier. I carry four on duty, one or two off duty, when I pack a revolver. I TRY to carry a spare mag with me all the time when I carry an auto.......but sometimes I forget. But the gun goes on with my pants, so I can't forget it!;)

Shot a BUG match with a 442 and Bianchi speed strips once.

Didn't want anything to do with "speed" strips after that.

YMMV.

Thanks for all the responses, I think I'll just get a couple of each and see which I prefer or maybe another gun:cool:

Of course!

I got lazy and decided to dedicate one speedloader to each possible role i.e., one for bear defense, one for home defense, one for the mean streets etc. Carry all of them.
