It depends on the situation really. I carry a Ruger LCP at times, I just about always take my XDm .40 with me and carry it concealed as long as I can wear enough clothes to hide it well. I even carry my S&W 629 if I head to the woods around my house or my farm. That .380 isn't going to get the attention of a black bear. I don't expect to have to use any gun on a bear but it does happen sometimes and I'd rather carry too much as not enough.

That .380 isn't going to get the attention of a black bear.

I bet it would get the Bears attention, you just might not like the attention that the bear gives.......

Well.......

.......typical carry is a FEG Hi Power. Carry that most of the time, frequently even in the summer( under a Hawaiian shirt ). Especially if I need to go through "rough" areas. I do have an Astra A70 that I carry quite a bit. Though a little smaller, it is still a heavy firearm. Even for a single stack. Usually stick with the FEG though. I'm WAY better with it. And the thin slide is great for IWB. Not that the A70 doesn't shoot nice, just better with the FEG.

Sweltering humid weather calls for the LCP. Woods-walking calls for the Ruger Speed Six. There are also times that a Sig P232SL comes into play.

I sound unique on this thread as I only carry a single gun for all carry scenarios. It's a subcompact 45.

Most of the time its either a 637S&W 38spcl or a PPK/S. Once in a while I'll carry my Sig 1911 RCS. All are carried IWB in leather holsters.

I generally carry a compact pistol. When carrying a subcompact it's a Kahr PM9. I haven't carried one of my .380s since Kahr produced the PM9. It's a great little pistol and has a super DAO trigger. Usually though you'd find me with my HK45C, or now that I have one the HK VP9.

I carried double stack 9 mm for years until back pain drove me to something smaller. I can still carry the compact OWB, but have to drop down to the subcompact for IWB carry.

Compact for me. I carry a CZ7D PCR mostlly followed by an HK P7, and Beretta 85FS.

I carry a 642 as a BUG, a 2" model 10 (compact I guess.) as a primary on occasion, mostly a compact S&W 3rd gen .45 (Shorty 45 MK2) as my primary and just got a 4567 (full size) that has gotten carried some and most likely will more when winter gets here.

Mostly subcompact; occasionally something compact, like my Ruger SR9c or CZ P01. A little less than full size, my Colt Commander also gets some carrying time.

G23 has been my EDC for several years but recently switched over to a SIG P938 and love it. Took me a while getting comfortable with carrying a SAO cocked and locked but I'm past that now lol.

CITY Slicker:
Glock G27
Sig P238
Kimber ULRTA CT

Flathead Valley Woods:
S&W .500
Glock G20

I've found zero sub-compact autos that I even remotely like shooting enough to trust for carry.

I tend to carry either a Glock (30S, 21, 23.. depending on weather and my mood) or a Commander sized 1911. Or a Gov't size 1911.

Smallest I'll carry is a Ruger LCR when I want "deep concealment" or when its really, really hot out. Fits so nicely in cargo shorts.

Glock 26 most of the time.
Glock 21 some of the time.

I don't remember the last time I carried my 19. I carry the 21 when I'm hunting, the 26 any other time.

M&P 9. It doesn't seem like a large gun to me but since they have an M&P9C (compact) and a M&P Shield (Sub Compact) I presume they mean it to be a full sized gun.

It's not much bigger than my 6906 (compact) though
