Sort of...one with a slogan rather than a name. "One Shot Drop" is what I call my H&R 3.5" Turkey Gun. I call my Charles Daly 12ga "Chuck" and my Mossberg 4X4 .270 is "Mossy". If you become attached, you tend to name things. I name my wife, and she names me right back!

Personally, naming your firearms always reminded me of some dweeby kid with a paintball gun that posts pictures of himself acting like a bad-ass on his myspace.

"You don't wanna name a cow your gonna eat."
I always have; T-bone, angus, ribeye, bacon. and I have named guns too, I had an old N.E.F. single 12 guage that's name would have to be censored, a pistol named janeen, and a few others, I think it is funny

My main rifle/carbine (AR-15) is named Susanna. My main sidearm/pistol (M9) is named Charlene.

I sometimes sing, "Oh Susanna now don't you cry for me, if you jam in the midst of a firefight, Charlene'll save me..."

No I don't and I think people who do are a little odd. At the range (from the ones I have personally seen) they are the ones in all the tactical gear aka Mall Ninjas.

honestly, this thread makes me want to stop owning firearms. maybe barnie is a good name a weapon or maybe someone's wife won't agree.

Not names per se but definitely code names.

I have found that it is prudent to have prearranged code words for discussing firearms in public as so not to be obtrusive and attract unwanted attention to your conversation.

In a crowded line, restaurant, etc. a friend in my loop could ask: "Do you have a Glockenspiel ?"
"Sure do" Ill reply.
He is of course asking if I am carrying my Glock 23.

I then ask the same friend "Did you get a burrito to go for lunch?"
"Yep." He replies knowing I am referring to his Beretta 9mm. Other uses may include "Taking the Calico pony out to a big field to exercise" meaning I took my Calico Liberty III up to the mountains. Attaching a 'Mr." such as "Mr. Benelli arrived from Italy today" to signify a new Benelli shotgun arrived at the FFL. (Most non-gun folk won't know the name Benelli or will associate it with a motorbike.)

This practice makes it much less awkward to discuss firearms in a crowded situation with strangers in close proximity.

Excellent point. This is the main reason I've given my handguns(no rifles)nicknames. Also, perhaps its just an eccentricity.
Also Arnold,.357 Mag,Bruce,.45ACP,Stanley ,.38 Special and Duke ,.44 Mag are all named after action hero's, although Arnold has been slipping lately.
Anyway, its a harmless proclivity and hopefully I won't be expelled from THR for indulging.

Only one, ever. It is a .22 my wife bought me when we first married, otherwise I'd have sold it. Old Lightnin' is her name (the rifle, not the wife) cuz it's never hit the same place twice.

for all you non-namers, how do you refer to your firearms? Lets say you are telling a friend what happened at the range with a specific gun, or ask someone to pass you a specific gun...

Do you say "And then my Kimber ultra carry 2 and yadda yadda " or "mossberg model 935 magnum waterfowl shadowgrass camo" or "savage 111GCNS in 25-06" or "Ruger K95DPR15"

I submit to you that if you call your Ruger K95DPR15 your "P95" or your mossberg model 935 magnum waterfowl shadowgrass camo "The shadowgrass mossberg" you are indeed naming your firearms, you just aren't being very creative.

Yes I do but I'm not very original. Some of mine are named Glock, Kimber, Savage, Ruger and the list goes on.:p

Any mechanical device I name breaks shortly after. It has to be a mighty cold day in hell before I give one of my guns, cars, or any other non-living object a name.
