Im curious as to if how many people actually HAVE a saiga shotgun of any gauge. :D

its a shame they arent being imported by EAA anymore, I hope a new importer is found. I myself have a longer barreled .410, and love it!

I still want to get a 12 one day though. :cuss: :banghead:

Speaking of mags, i have been looking over an older MK4 enfield magazine, and have been studying it...

I THINK if I can get ahold of some newer aftermarket ones (wouldnt want to mess up an original) I can make a magazine that should hold more rounds, in a space almost the same as a factory 4 rounder, plus, it would also count (if i could find a US made one) would count as three US parts, so if some one wanted to convert their gun to a more traditional AK type, they could with less hassle...although you could use the 4rd mag anymore. I dont PLAN on converting mine...but hell, if my idea works, maybe someone else can make use of it aswell, being they arent being imported, getting mags may be hard anyway.

I have a 22" barrel full choke version that I use for shooting crows.
Tight full choke on the gun allows me to kill the birds out to 65 meters using 2 3/4", 1 1/2 ounce loads of copperplated #4 shot.

You won't find a legal magazines with a capacity of over 5 shots as these violate the '86 or '89 weapon ban on imported "Assault Weapons".
I bought 3 two shot magazines from a place called Klashnikov USA out of Florida and these are legal for hunting.

You can buy 8 round mags ... check out www.saiga-12.com there are a couple of place you can get the mags..... Oyea be willing to dig deep ($$) and you will have a waiting list on getting them...but you will get them , took me 7 weeks to get 10 8 round mags..

I just picked up my Saiga 12 from my dealer. My kobra works great on it. On the mags; it isn't illegal to import them. Also, you shouldn't have to worry about filing a form 6 for import if you are over $100 wholesale. The ATF says it only applies to liscenced importers( read resellers). Happy blasting!

I wish that I had the money to buy one - I really want it, but can't.

Aren't they discontinuing them?

I'm surprised they don't already have DD status.

It may be possible and probable to order 8 shot Saiga magazines.

I am not so sure it is legal to actually use them in a Saiga shotgun, that would be a violation of the assault shotgun ruling made on the '86 or '89 assault weapon ban.

Then again, you guys don't live in Illinois and just about everything is verboten here.

had mine for some time now, 22" full choke 12g. it has been great, never malfunctioned as of yet, no matter how fast you fire it.. I wanted the 18" no choke barrel but couldnt find any at the time. I got mine from cdnn for like $189 or something...

CDNN has them now for $269 shipped. EAA is not importing any more. Remington bought the import liscence for the Baikal and Saiga lines and arn't going to import any Saigas. It will take 9-12 months for another importer to get a liscence and actually get them in country.
Also, there is nothing in the '89 law that restricts the capacity of detatchable shotgun mags. -Ian
