Okay... I have a confession.

I was experimenting with grips on my FEG, and...

Well, I decided that I liked having a different grip on each side of the pistol. On the left side is a Browning MkIII grip with a thumbrest, and on the other is the "old-fashioned" plastic HP grip. I really like the way it feels. I'll post pics if I can.

Anybody every done anything this crazy?

Wes

Even worse things. Ever cut a barrel, or converted a square butt Smith to round? I am not scared to adjust things to make them work the way I want them to. You screwed down a couple different grip panels on a pistol, take a $2500 shotgun and cut the stock off to fit a new pad. Your perspective will likely change LOL.

BTW, I commend you for having the gumption to find out what works for you. That is all that matters.

Not quite done that per se ... but yeah ... have ''tailored'' things to suit me. I used an old 686 for precision target comps way back .... made a spare pair of grips outa mahognay and then built up on the right, a palm rest deal, outa body filler ..... mould it to my hand with a layer of polythene to prevent sticking. On left grip made a thumb rest by same technique. When finished painted whole lot black .... worked a treat even tho aesthetically it looked odd!

Sure as hell helped my shooting so .... do what you find works .. always the way to go.

Haha!

Soon you will be shppping for milling machines to aid you in your desire to adjust your handguns to suit.

Nothing I have ever done to my guns was as scary as doing things to another person's gun (even with their permission) that first time...

I had my Smith & Wesson model 27-2 converted to a round butt configuration, and am now shooting it with a decidedly un-Smith & Wesson-esque slab-sided Clark barrel. It's nearly as good a gun as a Python.

Now you need to cover the backstrap with skate board tape and use a wood burner to Write your name on the grip. Oh and the right hand grip should be from a '68, the left from a '49. While you are at it slap a parkerized FM slide on it. Ashley front sight, Inglis rear sight. FN trigger, FEG commander hammer.

You'll have a hi-power that fit's as Johnny's Cash's One Piece at a Time Car Gun.

 :uhoh:

Hey it's your gun, do what you want. I have several pistols with a thumb rest on the left and a flat grip on teh right, but they were made as a matched pair, ie from the same piece of wood.
