A relative involved in settling an estate has discovered two handguns and has no experience in such things, so asked me for advice.

The easy one is a 6" Colt Trooper, blue, appears to me to be in very good condition with little to no holster wear or other blemishes. Flat top, adjustable sights. Do not know its age.

The other is unknown to me. It is a small semiauto with the markings "Soc.lt.F.lli Galesi-Brescia-Cal.6.35" on the left side of the slide and "Made in Italy" on the right side of the slide. Thumb safety on the left rear of the slide, magazine release latch on the bottom of the rear of the grip. Cocking serrations at the rear of both sides of the slide. Sights are so small as to be non-existent. Has what looks like a 5 or 6 round capacity magazine. White plastic grip panels with an inlaid emblem on each panel that appear to have "AG" on them. This pistol also appears to have very little sign of wear.

Any information re these guns (particularly the pistol) and their values greatly appreciated.

The Colt might be a Trooper or a Trooper Mk III or a Trooper Mk V.
Values differ.

The Galesi is kind of a middle class Italian .25 (6.35), I would say intermediate between Beretta and F.I.E.
Value not high.

From what I have researched this is a Trooper Mk III, with adjustable sights, a solid top rib and a transfer bar system.

wgp - there is another thread here that has links for looking up the age of firearms by their serial numbers. Here is a link to that site mentioned in that thread.

The Colts are in the second link down. The fact that your revolver has a transfer bar would indicate that it is of fairly recent vintage. Good luck.

As Jim Watson pointed out the Galesi is not all that collectible as it was relatively inexpensive to begin with. I would say a price range from $150 to $300 depending on it's condition.

The Colt Trooper Mk.III is much more valuable and in excellent condition I have seen them priced at anywhere from $850 on up. If you have the original box and paper work this would also add some extra value to the Colt.
