Most are locked up, unloaded. Most of the time.
One is kept in a locked GunVault, loaded, and accessable within seconds. Also a box of buckshot loads for the unloaded shotgun is in there. (So in theory, the .357 lets me fight my way to the 12 guage.)
Most of the others are kept locked in two low-end RSC/storage cabinets. They are unloaded.
One muzzleloader (my Parker-Hale Three Band- now you know!) is hanging high on the wall, in a nice pair of Ted Cash gun hooks. It won't fit in a safe, and I figure it has very low potential for abuse. Besides, I like to look at it.
I voted number 4 above, based on that.
Currently, my Lyman Great Plains rifle, (muzzleloader) is leaning in a corner. I'm about out of room in my "safes", it has little potential for crime or abuse, and if a burgler wants to load himself down with muzzleloaders, maybe he'll leave the good stuff alone.
Sometimes a milsurp is on the workbench in pieces, though I always lock up the barrelled action at least. Always at night or if no one's home.
