I shot a Kimber for the first time yesterday and I was amazed, I instantly fell in love with it. The model that I tested was a Kimber classic custom with hogue wraparound grips. After a few shots I was grouping about 3-4" at 15 yards with a few single holers, better than I have done with any other handgun that I've ever shot. So now I absolutely must have one :D ! I want to know what some of your opinions are on the Kimber 1911 pistols and how they have treated you so far.

I've run between 5 and 6 hundred rounds thru my Pro Carry II, and it has been wonderful. I have the one with the external extractor (which I believe the quit using recently), but I haven't seen any problems with it so far.

Good gun!

Love em. Despite what all the gunsmith patron snobs might say, it's a quality pistol with good out of the box performance. I love mine.

About six years ago a friend bought a new Kimber Gold Match and a Ultra.

He immediately gave them to me, unfired, to try out and see what I thought.
After a couple days I told my Wife, I've never wanted to spent near a thousand dollars for a pistol in my life but I have to have one of these.

I now have four and looking for five.:)

My friend has five and is looking for six.:D

Yes I DO!

Have a Custom II and want to make a couple mods to it but they can wait. Great gun and has been 100% reliable for me even though it has and external extractor:what: .

I have two a Eclipse Custom II 10mm and a Pro Carry HD II 38 Super.

the 38 is alot of fun to shoot shoots 2-3" at 15yrds

the 10mm i havent shot yet got it over the winter and just renewed my memebership for the range today.

Despite there not being one negative comment on this thread.....you resort to name calling? Please......grow up.

1998 Custom (sweet)

I have a Custom Series I that I bought 9 years and 1000 rounds ago
and I will never trade it. I like mine so much that Kimber is my daughter's
middle name (wife let me do that).
I really have been looking at the new S&W 1911s. Next twin boys
Smith and Wesson (wife said no).

Kimber

my ( see below ) is nearing 50,000 rounds & still has a nice 2&1/4 lb target trigger ( out of the box in spring of 1998). love it...just t r y to get it from me, xlol-- bulleseye, plates, pins, IDPA, carry....if i could have but 1 gun.....well, i already have it. My best draw to dbl tap at 30 feet is under 1.20 seconds ( i aint telling how much under but more than once i have been asked if it was a full auto pistol!!)

22lr Kimber upper, strong hand , bullseye 50 feet

a difficult birth, but we are hoping.....

Yes! Ultra CDP II carried by my wife for several years. It eats anything and everything, handles wonderfully, is accurate as can be, and looks really really cool. I'd buy another.

I had a Customer II. It was a nice pistol, went bang every time I pulled the trigger but it didn't do anything for me. I guess I really do prefer Colts. I ended up selling it & turned the $$ into another pistol :D

I'm excited! A gun show in town this weekend so a few hours of heaven on a Saturday! I had thought about asking this question myself. Even though out of my price range, it sure doesn't cost to look. Are these a Cadillac of pistols? Maybe I should splurge and not tell the wife? ;) :D Would that be wrong? :fire:

LOVE IT !!!!!

I carried a S&W 4506 for a long time. Came across a great deal on a TLE 2 and have never looked back. I use Wilson 47D mags and have never had any type of failure to feed . I know most people say the full sized 1911 is a lot to carry but .... WHEN YOU CARE ENOUGH TO ONLY USE THE BEST ... Nuff Said

i love my eclipse target II, even though it's had a few hiccups in the first 400 rounds. do i still need to break it in more or switch mags to wilsons or cmc's? btw, its extremely accurate and feels and looks great.
