these .17s would be just fine if you could hit the eye socket, under stress, 100% of the time.

I wonder if even that would be good enough. If the .17 really has only has 1.5" of penetration that might not be enough to go through the eye and get to the brain, all you might do is blind one eye and piss off the person shot even more.

For Steve, the Mach II is a 22 LR necked down to 17 caliber, just like the 17 HMR is a 22 Mag necked down to 17.

I think the Mach 2 might be a go but you're gona need a big deep breath to blow it out of the soda straw with enough velocity to put the BG down with one shot.

For the WSSM edition they are going to bring back the 44 rimfire case and neck it down to 22 and 17

The 17MKII in the old American 180 might be cool, Full auto, up to a 265 round drum.
