Good friend of mine is new to guns and she wants to try some trap and skeet shooting. So she was looking for a 20 gauge or 28 gauge. While we were out pistol shopping she handled a Akkar pump gun in 20 gauge in a compact model. Nice and light handled well but I could not tell her ya or nay as I know nothing about that brand. She is a lefty and like that they make pump and semi auto in left handed.

Does any one here have any dealings with this brand ?

After researching the brand I see they make a mid sized left handed over and under in 28 gauge also. Looks nice but sales pictures always do.

Now that I have the brand right does any one know much about these?

For trap and skeet - and I take it you mean at a gun club - a 12 would give her better options - from light to heavy loads and everything in between. The 12, being about a pound heavier, will absorb a lot more recoil, and a gas gun will help mitigate felt recoil better than a pump.

Akkar is one of the brands that are getting better in the quality department. IIRC, they make/made the Charles Daly
