I know Hornady and Sierra make .357 140 gr hollow points, and Sierra and Speer make 158 gr JSP, but I can’t find a 140 gr soft point anywhere; made by anyone. Does such a critter exist?

I've never seen a 140gr JSP before. I like 158gr JSP for handgun hunting for deer, I wouldn't want to go any lighter than that for hunting.
Almost to light for hunting , almost to heavy for SD. That may be why no one makes them.

I was pondering it for a mid size varmint and coyote round from a rifle. On paper at least, after 50 yards it retains more momentum and energy and has less wind deflection than 125 gr Bullets. I guess hollow points would be just as good for that type of work though.

on a side note, 140 gr XTPs hold more energy than 158 gr XTPs out to about 175 yards.
