Does anyone here enjoy shooting at steel targets at unknown distances from field positions?
I enjoy the specialty handguns for both hunting and shooting at long distances.
If anyone is near the Pueblo, CO area we are going to dedicate three days on MAy 26-28 to shooting specialty handguns on steel targets at all kinds of ranges from field positions.
We will also do some LR shooting from the bench for fun. :D

30's-- the steel targets r mostly going to be cinder block moulds i picked up at the local junk yd. There will be some ram silhouette targets , and a few others ALL OF KNOWN DIMENSION. Part of the seminar will be teaching reticle ranging, downrange zeroing, and windage reference. Most of the course will involve shots from 200-600 yds., with ranging accomplished anyway the shooter wishes, altho some will need to be ranged with the reticle. I've come up with an adaptation of the mil-ranging formula that can be used with any stadia-stadia subtension that's working pretty good to about 4-500 yds.

xphunter and sscoyote,

Welcome to the forum. I know who Steve is but not xphunter (yet).

I will probably come out to the event just to watch. My old IHMSA Unlimited gun only has iron sights, and my eyes are too old to use them anymore.

Look forward to meeting you. Steve told me about you on the phone yesterday. Never know--you might put an optic on that SP and come shoot with us. We take young eye or seasoned eyes. Steve and I are in the middle-aged eyes area.
