Does anyone prefer the original Ruger LC9 over the newer LC9s?

I have the original LC9 and while I can't say I like it better than the LC9s,,,
I can say that after shooting a friends LC9s Pro,,,
I felt no burning desire to trade up.

Mainly because I like having a manual safety,,,
Okay, the LC9s has a manual safety,,,
But the LC9s Pro does not.

It's also the one thing I don't like about my LCP.

I do realize the trigger on the LC9s has a shorter/lighter pull,,,
But to me that's not necessarily a benefit.

I'm happy enough with my LC9,,,
It's a nice little gun that I can hit with.

Not me I picked up a LS9s pro at the gunstore when they first came out and never even let the counter guy have it back, bought it on the spot and gave my LC9 to my father

I also prefer the LC9s. I don't dislike the LC9 but the LC9s feels like an improvement to me in just about every way. If you like the heavier trigger pull though, I see the appeal.

I like the LC9s with safety more than the original. Took out the mag disconnect before ever firing a shot.

Had the LC9s been out before I bought the LC9, I would have gone with the LC9s. But having a few LCRs, an LC380, and an LCP, the long trigger pull is what I practice with. Usually, even the S&W and Colt revolver, I shoot in DA for practice.

I sometimes carry the LC9, but find it easier to pocket the LCP most of the time.

Honestly, when they revamped the LC9, I was hoping they would increase the pre-set of the hammer to shorten the pull, much like they did on the gen II LCP, drop the awful LCI flag, and hopefully remove the mag disconnect. They went with a striker, which I can accept but to me the trigger is now too light and short for my taste on a pistol of that type. I've been interested since they came out but something has always kept me from buying. I fill that role with a Sig P290RS which is very good, not perfect, but hits most of the marks I want in a small 9mm carry pistol better than others I have looked at. I continue to be drawn to the size, shape, and looks of the LC9 but in the end it comes up short for me. Since I have had a CCL I have learned that small and discreet is a major virtue in the real world in which I actually live.
