Does having a G19 feel strange to anybody else right now?

It was a tool. A misused tool. Nothing more. Would you throw away an Estwing hammer because your neighbor hit his thumb with it? A nice Wustof knife because it cut your wife's hand while she chopped an onion?

Personally, I'm a Kimber/45 kind of guy but I'm working alot of OT next week and a new Glock is looking better all the time...........

The Glock 19 model is very popular to Glocksters, because of balance and concealability. When watching the revealing photos of the killer holding one, it does bring some moral and timid thoughts.

Actually it reminds me of a cartoon I saw after the Clinton-Lewinski affair. Two old rich guys are smoking cigars, and one says, "It just doesn't seem quite the same..."

I feel really bad that I do not have enough drop free mags for the 19. My local fun store is selling them for $20 as long as they are in stock. I am heading over tomorrow with a bill full of cash.

It's quite comforting sitting in its holster at my side.

Seriously, it's a tool, not a magical object with feelings. Sheesh. I guess you'll feel weird using the same make and model knife that some felon used in a robbery.

No, a Glock 19 does not feel or look strange to me as a result of the Virginia Tech murders. I also don't feel uncomfortable with Koreans or other Asian people now, I still like university students a lot, and I continue to think that university presidents are fundraisers skilled at faking concern for faculty and students but don't care about anything other than their own pockets and ego.

He had underwear, too. Does it make you feel strange to have underwear?

Nope I go commando . Its my low drag, high speed, load out.

As my kids would say, "TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!!!!!"

As for the G19, while I don't own one (yet) I've been considering it.

A good friend has been researching which model Glock to get (G19 or G23, or G30).
He actually had a G19 in his hands the day of the tragedy.

My buddy is more determined to get the G19 because of the possibility of legislation saying that he can't have one.

glockfan. . . it's just a tool, the same as a car, truck or motorcycle.

Thanks for reading.

my car looks probably identical to 100 others that were driven by drunk drivers resulting in killing somebody else innocently on their way home.

I don't really feel much different about my car.

Nope. Everyone else has pretty much said what I've wanted to say.

I'd only like to add that I sold my G19 back in September for bill-paying money, regretted it ever since, and have been looking to replace it.

Interestingly enough, the best price I've found is from TGSCOM/GlockTalk, the same company that sold the VT shooter his Walther P22. I've bought from them before, and they're good folks with good pricing. Once I get the money, they'll be getting a chunk of it for a G19, 10 15rd mags and 3 33rd mags.

Small world.

Not in the least. My guns have nothing to do w/ that evil so n' so. I look not at the tools he used but the evil & destruction in his actions.

I'm a John Moses Browning guy all the way, but must admit that I wanted a G-19 last week and still want one this week.

You would be hard pressed to find a model of pistol that hasn't been used for something horrible at one time or another, just as hard to find one that hasn't been used for some good too.

I want one because somewhere a Congressman/woman doesn't want me to have it. and I'm an xd kind of guy....

Yeah, me too. I'm not an XD guy (I don't own any of the popular models, unless a USP counts), and I'm not particularly fond of Glocks - but I'll admit that one with a stock/SBR and 33-round mags is appealing. :p (Can that be done legally?)

G19?

Having one only feels strange if I'm not carrying it , along with a couple of standard caps.

For some reason, my Mak or SP101 (summer carry weapons) just doesn't feel like "enough" and thats strange :barf:

It's the damnest thing. I own 2 XD's and never had any desire to own a Glock. But I've suddenly found myself with a strong desire to get a G17 just for the above reason.

To the Op,
I can definatly see where you are coming from, but take a moment and step back. Look at why you feel weird about owning a Glock 19, it is because the media is emphasizing the use of the weapon. They are trying to attach a evil personification upon the weapon. You need to realise that this is why you feel a little weird. True it is a narrower similarity than an AK or any broadly produced type of weapon, but it still should not change how you feel about your weapon.
