I ordered new springs for my Colt Mustang from Wolff, and this is what they sent for a firing pin spring, it's a lot bigger dia. and longer than the spring that was in it, the old spring is a close tight fit on the pin and the new isn't, is this correct? I put it together and it seems to work fine but I haven't shot it yet. I carry this sometimes so I want to know for sure if it's right.

Wolf produces what they call extra power fire pin springs.
They are about 50% stronger than the factory springs and help to prevent accidental discharges and slam fires when pin inertia overcomes a worn springs resistance.
These springs will also perform about 20 times longer than a standard factory spring in most cases too.

Generally the springs will fit as tight as a factory spring.
In the Colt single action semi automatic design this isn't really neccessary and the best way to find out if the spring will function correctly is to install it and test fire the weapon.

If it doesn't work, Wolf will exchange it without problem. HTH
