Does this sound like a good deal?

NIB blue steel Ruger GP100 .357 magnum 3" fixed sights, $399.

This gun is less than most of the similar sized Taurus revolvers Ive found

What do you think?

My only problem is I dont know what Id do w/ it, at 35oz empty its too heavy for CCW IMO, but then again legendary Ruger strength it could be loaded up w/ some heavy hitting .357 for a woods gun or something, I dont know, Im tempted way too easily

its brand new NIB=New In Box, I learned that from looking at too many online gun auctions ;)

by me that's a GREAT price on a seldom-seen NIB 3" GP100.
GREAT gun.

Ok at a minimum it appears to be a good to great price. Now the quesiton is, are there as many holster/carry options for a GP100 as there would be for a s&w?

I have no issues w/ Ruger's functionally, but I did find it interesting that the gun store has them displayed in the same case as their Taurus revolvers, yet s&w's have their own display case. Either Taurus has really gone up in quality equal to Ruger, or Ruger is now considered a lower quality gun, OR the gun shop has an agreement with Smith and Wesson to display their wares in their own display case.

Hmmm....

ahph1992, Taurus quality is up, but Rugers are nicer. They probably don't have any deal with Smith and Wesson, they probably have so many S&Ws that they just put them by themselves while Ruger doesn't have as many models so it has to share space.

If anybody knows where I can get a deal on a 6", SS one, please let me know.
