Does your caliber choice change if you're carrying in an area where drugs are prevalent?

I haven't visited this thread in some time, but I see that some think drug users are on drugs all the time and therefore not a threat.

In my experience, many drug users can be a threat when they are sober and they are figuring out how to fund their next high. Addicts can get desperate and do desperate things. I've seen it first hand.

I see the same and opposite at work. I have seen people come in on ICE and dozens of other stuff be very mellow and compliant. I have also seen someone come in on the same stuff think he is Superman and want to fight everyone. Brain chemistry plays a huge role in illegal drug interactions.

There was an armed robbery a couple of years ago at a gas station/store in Bridgeport,Ct where the armed thief only demanded a carton of cigarettes. Maybe a nicotine addict?

Decades ago, I was in a convenience store on the north side of Waco, Texas when a robber ran out with two arms full of cigarette cartons. I don't know if he was an addict or a "dealer". :D

Areas where drugs are more prevalent? Like a college campus? Just kidding. Most drug users aren't violent and they primarily commit property crimes when they misbehave. You can find violent criminals anywhere so I carry what I carry.
