HANDGUN PROOF OF RESIDENCY REGULATION INFORMATION

June 22, 2004

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Justice (“Departmentâ€) proposes to adopt regulations regarding proof of residency documentation after considering all comments, objections, and recommendations regarding the proposed action.
PUBLIC HEARING

The Department will hold a public hearing starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2004, at the Department of Justice office located at 4949 Broadway, Sacramento, California. The hearing room is wheel chair accessible. At the hearing, any person may present oral or written comments regarding the proposed regulatory action. The Department requests but does not require that persons who make oral comments also submit a written copy of their testimony at the hearing.

Aside from say, a photo ID or something like that how do you give proof of residency? Do you take your cable bill with you to the gun shop?
 
Yup, that's exactly what you do. I think they prefer phone bills or car registration though. If s/o else covers utilities and you don't have a car, you can get your landlord to write out some sort of affadavit that you can have notarized, I think... Welcome to California!
 
Bad, you say? Here in WV you have do do that just to renew, or change the address on, your driver's license. EVERY TIME. Getting (and renewing) a CCW here is way easier than dealing with the DMV.
 
Why is it sad?

California gun owners allow it, few get involved or vote so they must approve overall.
So glad I moved back to Texas!
