I hope manufacturers catch up to demand sooner than later before the next presidential election creates an inevitable buying panic again

Another panic simply means billions upon billions of rounds immediately transferred into the hands of private citizens across the country.

Another 20 billion rounds of .22 LR alone will be another good start.

People should only panic IF the White House and congress BOTH go Democrat. If HRC wins the White House and reps keep congress then it should not be such of bid deal since HRC will have her hands tied with a congress that was elected to say NO to her.

Yeah...but that's assuming the tide doesn't shift in Congress during the same election cycle. And Congress is only ever 2 years away from shifting the balance the other way for a two year block of time.

Like most of you, .22lr has been unobtanium on the local market around Denver for ~2 years. I would see a bulk pack here or there but not much and not often. I think at one point I had gone a year w/o seeing any, and a full two years w/o seeing anything from CCI.

Recently, I have seen a bit popping up. Over the past two months I've stumbled upon CCI stingers, Minimags and Quiets at Walmart (I have three within 5 miles of my house) and while all three are generally devoid of .22, all of a sudden there is some showing up.

LGS has quite a bit as well, not great pricing but federal 40gr bricks for $32 (6.4 cents a round). Not wallyworld pricing but it's on the shelf.

Little hole in the wall "sportsman" shop (it's more like an indoor garage sale of used outdoorsman junk) has obviously OLD boxes of 525 federal bulks at $70 each.

I'll still buy when I find it. I should have around 5k mixed SV and HV stuff and 2k or so of subsonic to feed the suppressor.

The one's that have suffered during this is the kids. My daughter is too small to shoot 9/40/45 but loves to shoot the .22. Cracking open a bulk pack almost makes me wince as I know replacing it will be tough or pricey or both.
