They have an email the CEO set up.
But you can change all the settings, so I just sent him an email supporting Seseme Place's partnership with the NRA and told him to ignore the angry emails from soccer moms, who will never buy tickets anyways.

The CEO's email will send you an automated reply and you can see what "you" sent him so I am certain he recieved the respectful message of support that I sent him.

Turn the Message

to our message. Applaud them for their alliance and emphasize the positive aspects of educating the children. Use their message and edit it. :)

That aside, what is this partnership they speak of?

You can get discounted tickets to Sesame Place through the NRA.

The funny thing is that they seem to be mad about the the fact that it's an
Anheuser-Busch theme park.

so what?

Before:
Gary E. Knell
President and CEO
Sesame Workshop
One Lincoln Plaza
New York, NY 10013

Reference: Sesame Workshop/Anheuser-Busch/NRA-ILA Unholy Alliance

Dear Mr. Knell:

I was shocked to learn that an organization to which I have trusted my children's education for so many years and which states that is devoted to children's education and safety has entered into a financial partnership with Anheuser-Busch, which has resulted in funding the National Rifle Association's virulent and extremist Institute for Legislative Action.

As you must know, NRA-ILA has long led the effort to protect gun industry profits by fighting any meaningful measure to reduce gun violence, the very scourge that kills and wounds so many of our young citizens. I deplore the NRA-ILA's radical and menacing agenda and, so, deplore Sesame Workshop's connection to it.

Mr. Knell, it doesn't take a genius to know that kids, guns and beer are a horrible mix. I, therefore, demand that Sesame Workshop end its relationship with NRA-ILA and its funder Anheuser-Busch immediately.

Sincerely,

Wow, powerful adjectives!
Here's my response:
Gary E. Knell
President and CEO
Sesame Workshop
One Lincoln Plaza
New York, NY 10013

Dear Mr. Knell:

I was happy to learn that an organization to which we have trusted our children's education for so many years and which states that is devoted to children's education and safety has entered into a financial partnership with Anheuser-Busch. Thank you for funding the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action.

As you must know, NRA-ILA has long led the effort to protect our second amendment rights fighting any unreasonable measure to restrict gun ownership. The NRA supports the right that our constitution extends to many of our citizens. I support the NRA-ILA's agenda and, so, support Sesame Workshop's connection to it.

Mr. Knell, it doesn't take a genius to know that the press, and extremists are a horrible mix. I, therefore, I recommend that Sesame Workshop continue its relationship with NRA-ILA and its funder Anheuser-Busch indefinately.

Sincerely,

:neener:

The guy in the video is a whiner. Or is it wiener? Either way, he's closed minded and uneducated.

That's nothing. One of the major media outlets quoted a few posts from glocktalk after someone posted an article about an unarmed person getting robbed or raped. I believe the media even quoted the poster's username in their followup article.

The guy in the video is a whiner. Or is it wiener? Either way, he's closed minded and uneducated.

Bryan Miller's a sad case, and a long story. He's one of the prime agitators for the forces of organized gun bigotry in NJ/PA/DE. He was radicalized when a criminal burst into an FBI office seeking vengeance. His brother, an agent, was killed in the crossfire. He's appeared on various local news dabates, generally getting his buttocks whipped by the progun side, and on one occassion, was ungracious enough on camera to refuse to shake Scott Bach's hand after the debate was over. He runs several shell groups under the ceasefire banner, and activities like this site are one of the many things he does. Several years back (and perhaps currently?) he was funded by the Joyce Foundation.

Like the squirrels who have nothing to do all day but figure out how to get into my wife's bird feeder, Bryan Miller has nothing to do all day but sit around and write press releases hold press conferences, and sit in meetings with any politician who will see him, agitating on behalf of the forces of organized gun bigotry. If not for the Joyce Foundation, he'd just be another crackpot too busy making ends meet to be a problem.

I sent the message too.
I'm glad we have people pushing legislation that could end my firearm ownership who don't know the difference between an assault rifle and a battle rifle.
And by "glad" I mean "super peeved off".

My version...

Dear Mr. Knell:

I am pleased to learn that an organization to which I have trusted my children's education for so many years and which states that is devoted to children's education and safety has entered into a financial partnership with Anheuser-Busch, which has resulted in funding the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action.

As you must know, NRA-ILA has long led the effort to protect citizen's rights by fighting ill-conceived legislation designed to disarm law abiding citizens and improve the chances of criminals everywhere, the very scourge that kills and wounds so many of our young citizens. I heartily support the NRA-ILA's efforts and so, applaud Sesame Workshop's support of it.

Mr. Knell, it doesn't take a genius to know that preventing law abiding citizens from protecting their families only strengthens the criminal element among us. I thank you and Sesame Workshop for its supportive relationship with NRA-ILA and its funder Anheuser-Busch.

Sincerely,

Proof that the anti's read this forum:

http://www.gunguys.com/?p=2360

I don't normally give these hits, but I do check in every once in a while to see what they're up to.
Is this my 15 minutes? Where's the credit? I want royalties!:cuss:

Seriously though. I think that keeping our friends close and our enemies closer is very good advise in these times. I am educating myself to the tactics of the anti's to better prepare. Heck, I'm close to Madison and there have to be some gun-haters around here.

It always cracks me up to visit "gun guys." It's classic astro turf. They have no membership. They have no real people supporting them. There are in fact no "gun guys" at all. The website and the so-called "freedom states alliance" is nothing but a front for some anti-gun groups and the Joyce Foundation. The people who put the site together are all paid hacks.

IMO, interacting with these folks is a waste of time, and tends to hand them ammo if not done skillfully, with a do-able plan to achieve positive benefit.

If you want to counteract them, observe who their targets are, and interact via a different channel that they have no access to.

As clever as it is to edit the anti-gun message into pro-gun message from their website. I wouldn't edit the message and send it from their servers. Most likely CEO Gary Knell is not going to re-read a form letter to see if its been edited. He'll just think its increasing pressure to sever the relationship with the NRA.

Its probably best to email him from your private account and make clear from the subject line that your support the NRA-ILA partnership.

I considered doing the same thing, modifying the message subject and body...but I wasn't 100% sure the server would send my revised text. It's entirely possible that the email sent would just be their pre-inserted garbage with my name on it, despite the revisions I'd made on-screen.

For that reason, I chose to send an email to them from my own account instead.
