So I was talking with my GF this past Friday about taking my dad to a model train show this weekend... (Dad still 'plays' with 'scale models') and I said something like "wish he wanted to go to the Tanner Gun Show instead"

and GF says, "Don't you DARE go to a gun show withut me!"



Oh yeah, she's a keeper. So on sunday GF and I went off to Tanner to peruse old Colts and seach for that Astra 400 at the right price. Only saw 2 at the show, one was pretty beat up, one pristine and priced accordingly. While I didn't see anything that I was crazy about... GF has me looking for a .32 Walther PPK, for her.

And no she doesn't have a sister.

That is great!

One of the funniest things that happened to me at a gun show was when I took an exchange student from Croatia, and a single mom and her daughter that lived here local [ classmates at the time] to a gun show.

All 3 of these gals informed me the overpriced hot dogs, and watered down Cokes tasted better than the ones at the baseball game we had attended earlier in the semester.

Single mom all giddy about her new used Model 10, her daughter standing there with her new used .22 rifle, and brick of 22 ammo, and the gal from Croatia with a New Winchester ball cap bugging me as to when we could shoot shotguns again...patting a bag containing 28 ga shotgun shells she had bought and wishing she could afford a Ruger Red Label in 28 ga she just could NOT put down, quit rubbing the stock and going "oh...ahh....ohh..."

Girl from Croatia said the Beef Jerkey from the Pilot gas station was better than that from the gun show though.

...............Dang, Steve, I think I need to go back to school! Come to thinkof it, I did rather enjoy my last stint in academia, but I was only in my mid 40's.
