Let's help each other enjoy our harvest. Here's my favorite recipe, cross-posted from Lennyjoe's thread.

2 dove breasts
toothpick together with 2 slices of japapeno in between 'em
slice of bacon wrapped around.

Broil, till done on one side, then broil other side.

Pretty tasty, if you like spicey.

What's your favorite dove recipe?

I've never found a way to make dove not taste like liver. And I hate liver. So, I don't hunt them anymore. The dog liked it though, he usually ate more of it than me.

I'll stick to quail.

Dove breasts fillet off the bone, flour and brown in bacon grease in oven proof pan . Add a box of stove top stuffing and bake about 30 min at 350deg. Add onions to it to help take away the more liver taste. Just scoop out the dove breast with the stuffing baked around them . Pretty tasty.:)

I'm with Fuzzy.
I always make sure I go hunting with someone who likes them, they can have 'em all.

Although I am not a dove hunter, I was treated to a "dove feed" once by a friend who is. All he did was bone the breasts and lightly saute them in white wine. He seasoned them with just a little salt and some fresh ground white pepper. We his guests ate them as fast as he could cook them.

That does sound good, Golgo. I'll try it.

You guys who hate liver--try my jalapeno/bacon recipe. Those two flavors are strong enough to hide the liver taste. You get good meat texture on a spicey bacon taste. Its good!
