I was shooting my Gold Cup today and the magazines were getting stuck in something awful. I have a new Clarke barrel in there that I "fitted", (somehow). I have put maybe 100 rounds through it. Besides jamming on my wadcutters, a little, it has been great. The thing is shooting in one hole, pretty much, until now. Nothing to do with grips has changed and the mags are not spread. Any ideas out there? When I say stuck I mean really badly, not just a little sticky.

Standard type (unsupported) barrel has nothing to with mag.

Check your trigger bow, grip screws, and bushings for intrusion into the mag well.

Also pull the mag catch and check it for deformation. It does push in all the way doesn't it?

Let us know how it goes.

+1

Quite often one or more grip screws are sticking out too far inside the mag well.

Especially prevalent with grips that have too deep countersinks, or used grips that have been on & off several times.

Well next time I come in with questions, I probably won't be in the mood for games so.................. I ground down my plunger levers when removing firing pin safety from the gun. They are just spacers now and maybe still too big and one of them spun and entered the magwell and maybe hung up on some grit. this snagged on the mags

Post 1. "...I can't understand the problem since I didn't do anything to the gun...."

Post 27. "Well, I did work over... and replace... and reshape... and remove... and weld up... and bend.... and drill...."

Been there before. ;)

OK, I am back again with a new query. Everything ran well, today. New barrel ramp :what: new mag and my SWC were NOT nosediving at all. I was pleased ;) I was gonna skip cleaning, but noooooo. I get out the rouge and my trusty dremel and get the new barrel shiny,or at least the chamber, on the outside. I clean things up and put it together and the gun, for the first time in seven years, will NOT go back to slide lock. It was short like a half inch. I take the spring out and it goes wonderfully. It drove me nuts for like a good hour of misery and then the last time, it was close and then went to SL and feels fine as always. Any thoughts as to this? as I do not ever wanna take this gun apart after this :fire:

It seems to me it may not be a good idea to stretch out a recoil spring, because it may bind up :)

As soon as I saw the word Dremel, I knew there would be problems. Get a bigger hammer, too.

Good luck, and keep all of the parts inside a box.

I did get out my 24 oz estwing from storage. I screwed the frame upside down to my bench  Well I used some wire and screws and padding. I had a plan to smack the bottom of the trigger guard with my old barrel so as to tighten up the slight up and down movement in the trigger. I just could not do it because I was afraid of breaking the guard instead of a slight bend. So the bigger hammer isnt needed ;)

ha ha I was made sport of and devolved into a trollish post. This firearm looks great, and shoots better. No jams of any sort with any ammo. It is smoother than any high end gun I have looked at. The trigger is equal to any. Now that I jinxed myself, I will admit it was do to other peoples knowledge and posts and a lot of luck that I didnt ruin the thing.
