Sen. Thompson is a gun friendly potential Republican candidate. Here's some info to mull or pass around.
Below is info e mailed to me from Draftfredthompson.com

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe we have the makings of a fine Presidential candidacy. After watching Fox News Sunday and reading the surrounding blogger buzz, it would appear that Mr. Thompson is heading toward an honest to goodness campaign.

One of the things he mentioned was a need to evaluate support. That's where we can help.

I have some ideas. Some are already underway. Some will require your participation. All will move us in the direction of our goal to get FDT into the 2008 mix.

Bumper Stickers
I should receive my sample sticker tomorrow. Assuming I'm satisfied with the quality, I will place the initial order. I have received requests from a number of you and will see that those requests are satisfied. I will also arrange with the printer to make the top three sticker files available online so that you can place orders for bulk quantities directly from the source. As I've said from the beginning, I do not want to collect money personally. Once an official campaign is underway, there will be ways to contribute.

Petitions
a. Online version here: http://www.petitiononline.com/FDT_08/petition.html
b. Old fashioned paper version here: http://www.draftfredthompson.com/pix/fdt_petition_2.pdf

Be sure to sign the online petition. Then, if you can print out the paper version and carry it with you. Ask your friends and coworkers to sign. Print as many as you can. When they are signed, scan them and email them to me. I will forward them to Mr. Thompson directly.

Data Sheet
I need help gathering factual, supported information about FDT. I can reference his voting record and have plenty of reference material on this site, but I need help forming a one or tw pager that we can all use when talking to our friends and regarding Mr Thompson's positions. This needs to be in an outline form. Anyone with the ability, create a bullet point with a summary para for each point. email it to me and I will edit and distribute.

Become active in your local GOP Chapter
Get involved in your local GOP chapter. You can find it from this RNC Link http://www.gop.com/States/ I can't overestimate how important this is. Attend a meeting or schedule your own. Use the talking points we're working on above. DO NOT underestimate your influence. You may have never been involved in a campaign before but you can be and this is important.

State orgs and Special interest groups
Finally, be sure to find your geographic region and start a thread herehttp://draftfredthompson.com/index.php?board=5.0. If you have special interests, start something here toohttp://draftfredthompson.com/index.php?board=34.0. If you're into 2nd amendment issues, go herehttp://draftfredthompson.com/index.php?board=35.0. If you have a special interest not represented, post in the top level special interest section and I'll create a section. Create some buzz on the boards your interested in.

We're all feeling our way through this but I'm so encouraged by FDT's appearance on FNS. Let's make this happen!

Sorry but, Fred just crapped out on us. He is going to wait till this summer to see how the waters are.

What a maroon......

Bainx, waiting may be the smart thing to do.

Consider for a moment how early the others have started?

Consider for a moment a candidate that steps in after they start becoming irrelavent and people start tuning out.....and you know that most folks are going to lose interest and the others are going to criticize them for NOT doing their jobs as elected officials and spending their time campaigning.

Holding off may the the right thing to do...one could argue that its taking "The High Road"....
