After a hunting session yesterday morning with no luck, I decided to spend the rest of the day checking out new hunting areas nearby. Not expecting to see anything I decided to leave my rifle in my vehicle before I walked the trail. After walking about 150 yards a doe popped her head up only 20 yards from me. She must have heard me walking, and soon as she raised her head I froze. She apparently didn't see me and put her head back down to graze. Just as a test, I decided to see if I could get her in my sights with my 1911. I side-stepped slowly and put a tree between her and me so she wouldn't see me unholstering my pistol. As I unholstered my gun I raised it and aimed it toward the right side of the tree. She walked out right in front my sights. It would have been an easy shot. BTW, does anyone know if it's legal to take deer with a .45 in Florida?
