If a rifle isnt drilled and tapped for scope mounts from the company what does one have to do, to get a scope mounted and what would it cost?

The CZ 527 Varmint Kevlar says sights none, while the Browning A-bolt composite stalker is already drilled and tapped for scope mounts. (these are the two rifles im looking at).

Here are the Links:

Thanks a bunch.

Order the CZ rings with it. Looks like the reciever is dovetailed and from what I've read, is not a standard size. Others may be able to provide more info, however.

CZ/BRNOs

We have had BRNOs (now called CZs) in Australia for yonks, they are all dovetailed for mounts and don't need drilling.

Great guns, I have had a lot of them. Currently have an old BRNO No2 22RF and a BRNO Fox in 22 Hornet.

Recently bought a new CZ 527 carbine in 7.62x39. It has 16mm groves for mounting the scope and seems perfectly adequate. The larger rifles called for a diferent mount so it might be bigger than the 16mm grove. I do not see any thing wrong with this system. It is probably even stronger than 2 screws, since each mount captures about 1/2" on each rail.

some guns have rings or grooves for mounting.

Otherwise unless you are good with a press and taps I suggest a gunsmith who knows what he was doing.

Don't expect it to be cheap though, it can cost quite a bit for all the holes needed.
