It will be possible to attend this Saturday.
Thanks for your most accurate estimate of time, but also whether there have been any problems on either I-75N on weekends, or whichever road branches west from 75 into Rome. Have never been to that area, or north of Atlanta.

Otherwise, would anybody be familiar with the types of Non-sporterized milsurp rifles typically seen there?

Time from Atl airport to Rome is about 90 minutes, unless there is a wreck on I-75. Take 75 north to Cartersville, then follow the signs to Rome. The Forum is downtown. The last show I attended there had some milsurps. I went for Antiques so I was a little disappointed.
Hopefully you will have a successful trip.

Thanks.

beatledog7: True, and maybe I should trust Mapquest more. But driving down the boulevard from I-20 towards College Park did not work out as easily as planned, and Atlanta is said to always have construction underway on various interstates.
Am just a pessimist by nature, and it's inherent in our line of work.

Rome is conveniently located close to nothing. Getting there from Atlanta is a chore, just because it isn't close, and you do have to go quite a ways once you get off the interstate. The last time I went there (which happened to be to purchase a pistol, though not from a gun show - a store there has one of the better selections of EAA Witness guns in the country), I was lucky enough to get a pal with a small plane to fly into the municipal airport there.

As far as unusual construction delays, check out this site, which is run by the Georgia Dept. of Transp.: http://www.georgianavigator.com/

Good luck, hope you find exactly what you want at prices 25% less than you expect! :)

ATLDave: Thanks very much, just going to look, in order to escape the routine of living in this airport hotel during weeks of intensive tng. (will miss all flights home Fri. night).

You wouldn't anticipate traffic problems on I-75N on a weekend?
If not, then maybe they have about 400 or so tables; at least a good selection of milsurp rifles?

When things are finished here, could have some retail phone numbers from the show, and can somehow find the cash to Later buy an extra SKS etc, or big chunk of ammo etc.
A gun is possible in case a retail seller is Willing to ship a gun to the FFL.

It's an Eastman show - they had one over on my side of town two weeks ago. I don't know about 400 tables; maybe. I'll be curious to read your take on the size and quality of the show. I've bought at the last two shows and was satisified. In one case it was semi-obscure ammo for a friend - .41 caliber and 16-gauge buck. The other was my Walter .22

As with any gun show, YMMV.

Admission is $8.
