I sight in my Rem.870 for 75yds so it actually hits about 2" high at 50yds. Drop at 100yds is then about 5".

According to Remington; the 1oz. "Slugger" high velocity load (not the reduced recoil that I use-more accurate) the drop from "Zero" at the muzzle is 2.19"

You MUST shoot YOUR gun to see where IT actually hits, however.

I zero my slug gun at 75 yards with 2.75" standard remington Foster style slugs. Out of a 20" barreled 870 I am slighly high at 50 yards and slightly low at 100. At 150 am about 3" low.

To clarify what was meant by my post (# 3).Unless you're shooting "the rear out of a gnat", the drop of a slug at 45 yds, is negligible ,if not moot.
