dry hunting area for hog and dear

I am new to hunting in Florida. I am wanting to find a public area to hunt that is dry enough to bring my kids on foot. I live in South East Florida. Are there any areas around Clewiston that are not private land that we can hunt by foot on? Any recommendations for other areas throughout the state?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

While ya may get some comments from "locals" who know more details, I suspect your best source will be the equivilent of our Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. Here, they publish maps that (and issue a special $48 public huntling lands permit). Their maps (and regs specific to each unit) are even made available on the internet.

Corbet WMA
Hungryland WMA

Not real sure how far these are from Clewiston, but they're in Glades and Palm Beach counties.
