I'm not sure, but you may be considered a gunsmith and need an FFL for it too.I'm definitly going to antique one new 1911 for my own use... I would be willing to do it for others, but its a ton of time consuming work, i would have to charge a considerable amount to make it something I did on a regular basis for other people.
Ajax, Thank you for sharing this! Since July, I have been taking a second look at the rusty "relics" while, making my rounds with the local gun shops. I have an old Savage copy of the Winchester 1890 thats still shot every so often, but has lived in a barn for years along with a rusty Ballester Molina that might be good candidates for a starter project for me.
