As one who owns quite a few KTs including a Sub2k and HiPoint .45 and 10mm carbines I've been happy with both.
The KT stuff is fun and unique but I don't expect my Sub2k to last as long as one of my ARs or AKs.
HiPoints are simple as a hammer and almost as reliable. Both companies have customer service that top tier brands should be jealous of.
I had a kaboom recently in my 8 year old KT 22mag PMR-22 pistol, KT only asked for a copy of the original recept and they replaced everything plus shipping both ways out of their pocket.
The new S&W folding carbine looks interesting, the first design I've seen that looks to be more clever than the Sub, although nothing will ever be smaller or lighter than a Sub. Like my p-32 it'll never see a high round count but it's a good tool for a very soecific need.
