I have never dealt with EAA Customer Service. However, I can say that Walther, Ruger, Century, SIG, Mossberg, and Tisas/SDS have all been excellent and did not charge me anything nor did they require the gun to be shipped to/from an FFL for service. Ruger had to completely replace one firearm and (although not required under law to ship a replacement firearm of the same type/model to a customer receiving service), Ruger required the firearm to ship to an FFL. They reimbursed me the FFL transfer fee so I was fine with that.
