Ruger goes EBR! TAPCO 580ser. Mini14, SAGE 580ser. Mini14. 16" barrel, 580ser. gas system, rounded receiver. NRA model will ship for $1099 MSRP includes 2x 20rnd mags W/O LEO markings. They will sell the 20rnd mags now to the commoners.

FN SCARS MG Nylon Polymer Receiver (like the Masada/ACR). I'm not convinced, either, that this is the way to go. But maybe it is just because I am too rooted in stout wood and cold steel...

f26fb6.jpg
FN's new less-lethal system. Fires 1.5oz of powdered bismuth. backed by another .3oz of OC. OUCH. Designed for EoTech for straight-on shooting (no lobbing as with paintball guns). AKA the third nipple maker

SIG P250. Actually quite nice trigger pull for short fingers and feels good. Not great but good. I tested the mag disconnect and it was just fine. I also stripped the gun way down - the ATF gun itself is about 2 inches long and is a little piece of steel that encompasses the entire trigger and sear system. The polyer "frame" - SIG adamantly calls it a grip - is not regulated. SIG will carry a whole bunch of "grips", small medium and large. The gun has a loaded chamber indicator that pops out to the side showing red, a mag disconnect, and no protruding hammer. I like it but am not about to ditch my P228 for it. For the right price, I'll buy it.

Now this is WAY cool. I went all over looking for the GSG because it was so hyped up. And, indeed, I had wanted to buy one as soon as I heard about them. But I was dissapointed. The gun is very Airsoft like, including the receiver housing. Further, when I asked the AMCHAR rep to show me how the gun disassembled, he looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. The guy turned to his buddy, they looked at each other quizzically, then he turned back to me and emphatically said, "Look, this isn't like an AR... you don't." Huh?? "You don't need to disassemble this gun?" "No, I guess not. It's a 22LR, not a centerfire. Just put a bore snake down it." "But what about the action?" The other guy chimes in. "You only need a bore snake." "So you don't disassemble it?" "No, it doesn't look like it!" ooooookkk....... I just turned and left, didn't even bother with a picture. On THR a moderator reviewed it and found it to be good. Well... time will tell. I personally am not convinced, especially after I found that the SIG Mosquito was also designed by these guys. On that note, I asked SIG if the Mosq. had been revised in its new version. The rep said that the new one ran perfect, and acknowledged that the old models had problems. I asked if there was a swap program, and was flatly told that isn't. However, he invited me to send it back to SIG if it had problems. Well.. guess what.. I did... spent $80... waited a month... and was told by SIG that my pistol runs just perfect. Yeah, whatever. Still james pretty frequently, and using the very best CCI minimag at that. So.. bottom line, time will tell. I really hope that I am wrong about the GSG.
....- Anyway, this is KelTec's SU22. It is a pistol gripped, collaspible stock, 22lr rifle using Ciener 22AR magazines. This seems to be a BIG winner esp for us in CA. Furthermore, they SPECIFICALLY tested this gun with all sorts of ammo and found only Remington Golden Bullets to be problematic. Federal bulk pack supposedly runs like a champ! I am VERY excited about this gun. 1/2x28 AR muzzle threading too.

Now here's another way cool pic. This is Kel-Tec's RFB. Remember it? The front ejecting bullpup FAL magazine 308 semi auto? It is a LOT more robust than the SU16, and is at least 65% steel. Very heavy weighty rifle. I held it and I was very impressed by by its ergonomics and its features. Most importantly, I spoke with the guy that you see shooting the RFB in all the youtube videos. We spoke about CA, and he said that they would seriously consider a CA model with regards to magazine and barrel length. WAY TO GO KEL TEC. Consider this: a 30" 308 rifle that has a 20" barrel. Uses grandfathered FAL magazines. Bullpup. And... accuracy is supposedly about 2-3" at 100 yards.

WOLF's Anaheim Sales Manager and I. GO WOLF. Their other Sales Manager is really cute but she was shy and didn't want to be photographed with me. That's ok - turns out that the guy and I know each other (sort of) from years back. Odd, ain't it.

2cokfa9.jpg
Arsenal's newest very NFA AK. Yes, that is a suppressor. By the way, I'm going try to go to bat for CA with Arsenal... IN BULGARIA. Yup, I'm going to try to talk to corporate on their own turf. BTW, apparently Arsenal is up to their neck with military orders that they can't sell receivers at this time, even the ones made here in the US. I think I felt Boxer and Feinstein get cramps all the way from here in Vegas.

Our Ghost Ring GS Trijicon sights. They are quite good and extremely reflexive. I was skeptical at first, but after doing transition drills (drop the primary and switch at a moment's notice) and night-time stress drills I'm convinced that this is after all the way to go - especially after in one drill my weak hand was "incapacitated" and I had to reload using the rear sight on my rigging.

And, Finally, one last pic of Briane with the P325 at the low ready.

Thanks for watching, friends -

Special thanks to all the cool reps who helped me take the pictures while I held the gun; the EAI staff Matt, Lily, and Walter.... ; Briane and Rhian our EAI models; and all the old gentlmen who stopped by to lend their advice, wisdom, experience, and tall tales to my shooting career.

Wow. neat stuff. for those who saw the first post please forget it. Inappropriate.

Kimber / DSA's Hooters Booth Bunnies and Me. So... EAI or DSA? =P

Well...

Your girls are cute and all, but DSA's girls can bring you wings and beer...

I'm really liking your ghost ring sights I have a 1911 that I've been wanting better sights on for a long time now. Next paycheck I know what I'm getting...

Woofers,
Let me know when... I might be able to hook you up a little.
Kev

ps: no release date on masada... i figure they want to dangle it in front of the military first.

[Ruger]will sell the 20rnd mags now to the commoners.
I'm scared that they'll only do that if you buy their $1K mini... anyone know otherwise? You can't buy the 20-rounders on their site yet...

It is indeed. I really am impressed by how Kel-Tec, unlike DPMS, is willing to help out CA gun owners. I went to DPMS and asked if they would ever consider changing the name on one of their models, or release one under a different name so that we could buy off-list DPMS receivers. The representative just smirked and flatly said "NO", then informed me that "we will never change it, that's just the way it's going to be".

Okay... well.. i'm sorry to hear that.... moving right along to Sabre Defense...

I too am very excited about that Keltech bullpup. Did they have a price point on that one or the SU22? The only thing that has stopped me from getting the SU16CA is that funds are tight and ammo can get pricey for a "fun gun". A slightly lower price and in .22 would be awesome.

They have no price yet but expect it to be probably a little less than the SU16. most of the parts were taken from the SU16, so they saved on production costs.

something nifty about the RFB i forgot to mention. not only is the rifle ambidexdtrous, the magaziens are drop free - in otherwords, no rocking in of the magazine as in FAL and AK and mini14... straight push, and when you hit the lever the mag drops out on its own. not even the aug can do this.

unfortunately, the price is likely about $1700 =( For that much I can get two newly rebuilt FALs, slings, and a battle set of magazines for each.

Awesome pics Silverlance, thanks for sharing. I think on the Bushmaster site they are saying release of the ACR will begin in the 2nd quarter 2008 for civilian and LE purchase. We know how that goes...
