Need a recommendation for a good set of range muffs, the electronic kind so I can hear range commands. Ideally, they should seal well around the eye protection. I'm considering the Peltor Tactical 6S.

Plugs and E-muffs are a great combination. They allow you to set the volume so you can hear range commands and they provide the additional protection needed during a class or range session.

I have the Peltor Tac 6 muffs and like them a lot. Wore them through a 2 day course with plugs and heard everything clearly and never heard a note of ringing after.

Make sure that you've got at least an NRR of 19 and that there is good support for them regardless of what you get. You'll want to replace the pads after a couple of years since they compress and you'll loose some protection.

Peltor Tactical 6S worked perfectly for me. I heard range commands & conversations with no problem. Blocked the noise of firearms fire nicely.

I use mine with the switch in the OFF position mostly, just to much on and off. They are simply great for doing gun classes though.
Some of the older timers use them for everything, like watching TV etc.
but put a little tape over the red light as the wife doesn't need to know when they are on or off.

I have the MidwayUSA Ultimate 10 Earmuffs Blue by Peltor (NRR 30dB)
main reason was the dB rating.
