Not me. Pets.;)

Do you think it could harm a cat or dog if it one ate a spent primer off the ground? I'm guessing it would probably pass through and not really do anything - like eating a BB or penny or something. I would imagine that if an animal made a HABIT of eating spent primers than the chemical residue could possibly begin to poison it.

It hasn't happened to my animals (that I know of)... yet. What do you think?

Also, how about a reptile? I have a turtle that likes to pick stuff up off the carpet.

Lead poisoning could be a problem as there is trace amounts in the priming compound and I don't think the sharp edges would do much good either. Might be prudent to vaccuum your reloading area frequently.

Let me guess, Dillon 550 owner? :D Them darn things fling primers everywhere, I know.

Both the single stage and progressive press I use now have spent primer tubes which I have directed into bottles. No more primers all over the floor.

Primers do contain lead, which certainly couldn't be good for a dog, cat, or turtle.

Besides the lead hazard,I'm concerned for the turtles' beak.Very hard but they can crack. Not good.

Lee Turret. ;)
Yeah, I'm sure the lead isn't too good. Doesn't sound like I'd need a trip to the Vet Emergency Room. I try to be tidy, but pets get into the darnedest things.
