Just picked up all three today which seems to put me in the Egyptian rifle collecting club.... picked up a Maadi AK earlier this year. The FN49 is an original one, not a Century rebuild, and as far as I can tell so far is matching and seemed like an ok deal for $625. The Hakim is in pretty decent shape, not as nice as the FN but I figured I couldn't go too wrong for $250. Was gonna stop there but then figured I might as well get the whole set for another $350. It looked like the bayonet on the Rasheed was something somebody stole off an SKS but now that I do a little reading it seems like it is correct after all. From what I see on Gunbroker it looks like I did reasonably well. Anybody else here have these three?

I've got a FN-49 and a Hakim, the only Rashid I saw sold the day before I stopped in that shop.

You did mediocre on the FN, unless it's matching and has a brass buttplate. The other two were screaming deals and a little above half-price each.

Personally, I dislike both the Hakim and Rashid, they're not really great rifles for all they're accurate, collectable, and unusual.

The FN does have the brass buttplate and the correct disk in the stock, finish for the stock appears to be correct and hasn't been varnished or anything. Haven't had a chance to tear it all the way apart but all the parts I have seen so far are matching. Kinda curious to see if the firing pin is one or two piece, a few weeks ago I bought a Venezuelan FN49 from the same guy for $625 also.

Would like to get a Ljungmann but haven't found one yet for a reasonable price, or really for any price. There was one at a gun shop I visited today but it was in the owners personal collection and wasn't for sale. I already have a couple of MAS 49/56 and a MAS 44 so I really just need a Ljungmann and an AR-15 to complete the direct impingement rifle collection.

I knew I spelled it wrong... Cool rifle though. I had the FN-49 in Amm and the Hakim in 8mm and they both were a blast to shoot.

i saw a rasheed today going for 699

it was the first time i saw one and i thought it was some type of sks at first glance due to the bayonet

Just took the FN49 apart and the all the metal parts (receiver, bolt, barrel, receiver cover) that I can find numbers on are matching and the receiver has the Egyptian crown stamp. The stock doesn't have a number that I can find though it does have the correct disk and brass buttplate. There is an interesting repair on the stock but otherwise the stock is in decent shape from what I have heard regarding Egyptian rifles. The upper hand guard has a non matching number stamped on the inside, same thing with my otherwise matching Venezuelan FN49 so I'm curious to find out if it's a number meant to match? The firing pin is the two piece type which is nice as I won't have to order it up. It also has the scope rail in the left side of the receiver, now if I could just find a scope.

The Rasheed has me a little bit stumped for the time being, unless there is some trick I don't see any way to fix the bayonet in the extended position without removing the muzzle cap/thread protector. It fixes just fine with the cap off but that doesn't seem quite right. The cap is pretty much the same as is seen on AKs and after searching through some pictures online appears to be correct. Haven't been able to find any pictures with the bayonet in the extended position. Anybody know what the deal is? The barrel also appears to be counter bored but I'm not sure if it's that way from the factory or something that happened later?

Stock on the Hakim is a bit rough, though not worse than on your average Mosin Nagant. Anybody try the one's that Sarco has for sale?

Just shined a bore light through all three and they are all shiny and in excellent shape :) Will post some pictures later.
