I am trying to locate a few of Elmer Keith's books at a decent price and was wondering has anyone ever tried contacting Petersen Publishing regarding a possible reprint?

I for one would be interested in several different ones, and I'm sure quite a few more people would also.

Anyone know if Petersen Publishing is still in business or have a contact who I could speak with about reprints?

TIA

Andy

Good luck. There are no sanely priced copies I am aware of. What I'd give for even a bad scan to pdf isn't funny.

when I was in High School the librarian would order what ever we wanted to keep our intrest up in reading & books !!! Guess what my request was ??? YOU RIGHT read em all !!!

Don`t think she ever realized exactly what I was reading , `cause I told her it was writings from another are in time .

Find em , borrow em , but read em , you`ll never regret it !!!

Don't know of Petersen still publishes books but I've thought about contacting Palladium Press about reprinting some of his work. If you're gonna pay $30 for a book it might as well be leather. I've managed to collect about half of his work. "Sixguns" is the best and typically not too difficult to procure at a fair price. Don't expect to spend less than $50-$75 for it. Got Palladium's reprint of "Big Game Rifles/Sixgun Cartridges & Loads" from Amazon for $49. Paid about that for Sixguns and much less for Gun Notes. Palladium did "Shotguns" and it's all over the place for relatively cheap.

Which ones are you looking for?

Look at bookfinder.com. They have several, actually a lot of Keith's books, but they start around the fifty dollar mark. And if you really want to help the economy, they has several copies sign by Elmer himself. I should have brought them years ago, 20/20 hindsight.

I looked on abebooks.com last week and found a bunch of Keith's books.

Ray Riling also has a lot of good stuff. I forget the website.

If I remember correctly Wolf Publishing (Rifle/Handloader) was selling a reprint of Sixguns. I don't remember the price but you might check thier website.

Looking for:

Hell, I was There
Sixguns
Safari

The Petersen Publishing that I contacted sent an email that they weren't the same company that I was searching.

I have contacted Palladin Press but no word back yet.

Palladin or Palladium? I remember seeing some 1961 editions of Sixguns for around fifty bucks in my recent searches.

My copy of sixguns is dated 1955, I bought it in 1992 for 40 bucks.
It is in almost brand new condition.
My copy of Hell I was there is dated 1979, I bought it around the same time for 29 buck.
Both these are hard bound.
My copy of Gun notes volume 1 is paper back and it is dated 1995 it is a second edition. It cost me 25 bucks.
I must say that I enjoyed Hell I was there, the best out of the three.
Then sixguns and gun notes coming in after that.
I reread sixguns last fall and it was so dated, but still a good read.
Gun shows can be a good place to pick up books like these.
But you will pay top dollar for a good copy.
My copy of Bill Jordans No second place winner is dated 1975 it the sixth edition. I think no man should not have a copy of this book.
