EMF Sharps Military Carbine

I was thinking of buying an EMF 45/70 Sharps Military Carbine. Which is around $800.00. Anyone agree that it is a good gun. Im looking to use it for small game. It caught my eye because it has good historical value to it and a good bullet that I like. It is also a good size for me. If anyone has anything to say before I buy it that would be nice. Dont want to just waist 800. Thanks only

um. define small game. if your gunna be blasting rabits and coyotes with a 45/70 you might want look up the definition of "overkill"

For the cost and recoil, I would not use any 45-70 on any game smaller than Bambi. I am not 100% sure, but I do not belive that the Sharps is supposed to be used with high power modern loads such as Buffalo Bore. For the money, I think you would be better of with one of Marlins 45-70's.

Small game to me is coyotes, but at 500 yard shots with a rifle that had been proven for over a centry. It is just the concept of hunting with such a historical desighn. And proven to be very accurate over the years. I would wander though what it would be like to hit a rabbit with the gun. So does anyone actually own one, please tell me about it
