Hello again everyone. First thanks for the quick response to my former question and for the pictures! They were great and gave me alot of ideas. My question is this. I remember a form of trench knife or sticker made by british or australian soldiers (not 100% sure) during their campains. I do not know if they used it in WWII, but it was used in the trenches. I remember seeing a picture of one about 30 years ago, and Atlanta Cutlery had replicas made for sale (WHY I DID NOT BUY ON THEN, I DON'T KNOW!). Does anyone know where you can find a picture or a tutorial on how to make them. It would be a very good self defense weapon. I notice that the bayonets and the scabbards are on sale for very cheap prices. I have seen a type of Shank made from a 91/30 bayonet, but it looks ugly. They had the handle wrapped with tennis racket tape. I am not saying it would not work, but I would like to make or purchase something that looks better and will do the job. I aways carry an edge weapon around my home and property. Since we live close (4miles) to the Mexican Border in S.W. Texas, every now and then we get people form Mexico that cross over illegally usually to find work, etc. Sometimes they can be desperate (I do not blame them) for food, water, or a hiding place because they are being chased by the Border Patrol. I have a friend that is a single mom, and her son hear noise in the attic. She looked and there were four men hiding. They told her that they were desperate for food and water. She called the Border Patrol. They came to get them and were given food and water. I was just looking for something to make or buy that would be easy to conceal and do the job. If they used these weapons in the wars, they must be effective.
