Congratulations on a GREAT Shiras bull.
Thank you Pato, I am plenty proud of him! You gotta admit though, I'm at least as pretty as that bull moose....

Well I guess it's the "pure heart" thing that's stopping me Going back and looking at your photos though for a mature bull his body looks pretty small to me. I worder why the AK/Yukon moose are bigger? No sir bone in. But remember that I am a man among men, strong, handsome, pure of heart and modest.
(Either that or a Shiras Moose bull is "only" about 1,000 lbs on the hoof as compared to a 1600 or 1800lbs Yukon Moose.) But I am going with option number one!

That is true. I've noticed the wolfs in pictures from the lower 48 are smaller then what I see here. Diet may be a factor, or the larger males win the breeding contest. As you go from south to north, the average size of animals is larger. Colorado/Montana mule deer are larger than the mule deer of the SW Texas desert. Northern white tail average much larger than those of the Gulf states. Same for coyotes, wolves and cougars.
Cheers!
And I'm going to have to see if I can find that Laphroig Triple Wood single malt...
I'm going to give it a couple of days....so I don't look like too much a glutton.H&H, still looking for a write-up on that antelope hunt...
It's good. Personally, for the money, it's not as good as the 10yo cask strength or the regular 10yo is probably as good for less money. For a bit more the 18yo is superior. But if you're just looking for a change of pace from the 10yo it's worth a try. It's certainly good.
