I'm currently debating between two shotguns, the Escort Slugger and the Maverick 88.
Both have been around for a little while and have a fair amount of accessories available for both. My immediate mod would be to replace the stock with a telescoping tactical stock, 14+" LOPs are far too long a reach for me. The primary difference is in the forearm, the 88 has the typical corn cob design while the Slugger's forearm partially overlaps the receiver when racked. The Slugger's action has been described as one of the smoothest actions on a shotgun. Both have very good reviews and due to the roughly $50 difference in cost I'm leaning more towards the Slugger.

While I am not going to bash Turkish made firearms, one does have to ask about long term warranty support and parts availability with Turkish made guns.

Now if the country of origin does not bother you then go with the one that fits you best.

The Escort is a phenomenal shotgun at a bargain price.

Buy with confidence. It’s a better made gun than the Maverick at half the cost.

While I was trying to decide I received an email sale notice, GForce Arms tactical shotguns for $100. Another Turkish shotgun manufacturer that is receiving rave reviews. Since I'm going to replace the stock with a telescoping stock I checked availability. The Slugger has a large number of options well under $100, the GForce only has one for $100. I decided to go with the Escort and have already ordered one.

With a couple of reviewers having some feed issues I dug a little deeper and discovered the problem is with the stock follower design. With it's sharp, crisp edges the shell crimp can catch on the follower leading to the feed issues. Simple (and cheap) solution is an upgraded delrin follower. Or simply see if relieving those sharp edges help first.

My choice would be the Maverick as it is a well documented design from a known company with factory and aftermarket support vs. a Turkish manufacturer who can fold or stop importing / supporting that model tomorrow.

I own the Maverick 88, I too had a choice recently when I decided on my second shotgun and I again chose Maverick 88. It was $200 out the door and the Turkish gun was only $150 out the door, but I chose Maverick because of an American company that will stand behind the gun years down the road. Plus parts are everywhere for the Mossberg's and they are easy to work on with simple tools. My nephew bought a Turkish shotgun a while back but I think it was a Churchill by EAA. The shell lifter would jam up if it was worked hard, if it was worked easy then it was ok. He sent it in and it took a little over 2 months to come in. It was fixed but I think I will stick with an American made gun that may be fixed sooner if it does tear up. I have delt with Mossberg a few years ago and they sent me the parts without sending in the gun, the shell catch wouldn't always catch the shell. Mossberg had me a new one at my house in 4 days. It fixed the problem and been a Mossberg fan ever since.

Hatsan, the manufacturer who makes the Escort line is one of the largest manufacturers in Turkey and has been around since 1976. The Escort line has been sold in this country for a long time, they're a "known" company and not about to fold up any time soon. They also make air rifles with the PileDriver a .50 caliber pneumatic air rifle being their largest caliber rifle. All their products are imported and warranty covered by HatsanUSA.
Do your research, not all Turkish firearm manufacturers are fly by night
