I would like to complile a list of books that everyone feels has shaped there concealed carry practice and thinking there of.

mine are:

"In the gravest extreem" -Ayoob

"on killing" -Grossman

Certain chapters of "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker are useful for those interested in changing their lifestyle to avoid confrontation and understanding it better.

"The Modern Technique of the Pistol", Gregory Morrison/Jeff Cooper.

"Thank God I Had a Gun", Chris Bird.

+1 for gravest extreme, gift of fear.

A few more off the top:
Principles of Personal Defense (Cooper),
Street Smarts, Firearms, & Personal Security ("Jim Grover"/Kelly McCann)
Real World Survival (Walt Rauch)
Secrets Of Street Survival - Israeli Style (Eugene Sockut)
Bodyguard Manual (Leroy Thompson)

The seminal one for me, which I read as a kid, was
The Truth About Self Protection (Ayoob)

Actually I have all of Mas' early books.

"In The Gravest Extreme", by Massad Ayoob is probably the best written book for starters.

It's also the one I've kept over the years and refer to frequently, or at least review every couple of years. It's also the best written book for endings too. If I could have only one book, for self defensive teaching, that would be it.
