Ever add one of these to your Dillon loader?

Has any one ever used a Uniquetek.com "Micrometer Powder Bar"? I saw it advertized in this month's American Rifleman magazine and it looks intresting. I'd like to get some feed back from folks to see if its worth the $50 price tag.
Thanks.

If you loaded several calibers or different powders, it might be worth it. I just buy new charge bars, and indicate what powder type/weight it is with a sharpie. Typically I put 2 dots lined up on the bolt and face of the charge bar so that I can see in a moment that they are lined up. Always check the weight with a scale though.

Also I do load workups with a Lee turret press and a different powder measure. Once I arrive at what works, I simply set up the 1050 to do a production run.

I have one on a 550B. It has no backlash so when it moves the powder charge changes in a consistant manner. I use it to ball park the powder then fine tune before starting to load. It stays where it is doesn't change. Easy to install good directions. A little pricey but well made, works as advertised. :)

9sigman45:

Thanks for the website address. I have a Dillon 550 and some of their items are very impressive. When I can scrape up some extra money, I plan on purchasing several of these items.

I have one of these on order, so I have no direct experience yet. However, the premise is that the settings are labeled, repeatable and predicatable. The micrometer adjustment gives you numbers to which you can easily return. The bar comes with a spreadsheet that once you fill in, allows you to predict the setting at which you will get the desired charge (you should still check!)

For the price of two spare powder bars, you get a super powder bar that can be quickly returned to any previous known setting without a whole lot of fuss.
