I got a great deal on a rare set of Farrant grips at a gunshow. They ended up being for a Ruger Security Six (I thought they might be for a S&W, but the price was so good, I bought them anyway.) Well, you guessed it. Had to go find a Ruger (always thought Ruger Security Sixes were ugly, but they ARE durable and depandable.) Anyone else guilty of this sort of behavior?

LOL, yeah... I guess I'll raise my hand. Or worse, I've bought firearms for ammunition that I had on hand (surplus that was on clearance or something similar).
I recently felt I needed a Tokarev for all the 7.6x25 I had on hand after I made up my mind to sell my CZ-52. I eventually bought an M57 and more ammunition, so much more that I felt I needed another M57. I now have two M57s. I just realized I only have one 8mm rifle for all the surplus 8x57 ammunition I have for it. I think I may need another rifle in 8mm. I think it's a disease.

I've bought another gun to share mags and the like rather than buying a different one for the same job.
That's why MrsBFD and I are both using Ruger mkIII pistols for target work, I had one and got tired about arguing over who's turn it was for it.

I may end up with a Block pistol now that I have a carbine that eats from Block mags, hopefully a gen4 will fit, because gen3 and down sure don't!

I'm keeping an eye out for a nicer compact 1911 now that I have one, sharing holster, mags, ammo, etc would be nice, and a lightweight model would be nice for carry while I beat the crap out of the all-steel one on the range.

I'm looking for a Tok to handle in person for MrsBFD to go with my CZ52 ... if she likes it I'll have a reason to stock the ammo in mass quantities.

I was looking some years back for magazine's for my Sig 220,I could not find them anywhere. I went crazy and ordered them from a bunch of suppliers.Well as you guessed it, they became available again, and I had a ton of them. They were coming from all over the country. Rather than send them back, I bought another Sig.

Almost. After I bought a Glock 17 I bought a handful of mags to go with it. The only logical progression was to buy a Kel-Tec Sub2K to help use all those mags.

Almost. Had one AR15 and eventually got so many parts for it that I had go get more guns to go with the parts!

Buying a gun to fit a nice set of grips is like a woman finding a set of nice shoes and then buying a whole new outfit to go with them..... NOT that I'm suggesting that you're thinking like a woman..... much :D

Sure have. And now my wife is watching me pretty closely because I ended up with the headlight for an M35 cargo truck. Hmmmmmm..............

Yup. I bought a S&W 686-1 a couple years ago and it had a set of nifty Ajax Pearlite Magna grips on it...that looked completely out of place on a 6" full-underlug L-frame. I changed the grips out and kept the old ones, thinking "you know, these would look great on a Model 64, 65, or 66". This year I ended up trading another gun for a Model 65 that was pretty beat up, had end-shake issues, and whatnot, so I sent it back to S&W to have them fix it and refinish it. I just got it back a little over a month ago and put those Pearlite grips on it, found a Tyler T-grip for it, and now I've got a nice little "bling" gun:

I really want a Sub2000. Why? Because it'll take all the G22 mags I have sitting around, no other reason. I really have no use at all for the gun, but I have a feeling that I'm going to end up with one eventually anyway.

I didn't buy but 'em, but, I won a set of RAMI grips that I later bought a gun to fit. Kinda wih I had just given the grips away, but now I have fullsize, compact and subcompact CZs.

Ha. Like I need an excuse to buy a new gun. lol. I just bought a Beretta 87 because I have like over 2k rounds of 22lr I inherited from my dad and I'm more into pistols than rifles.

have been tempted to buy yet another rifle, just because I had a extra scope on hand (but never did it)

on the other hand, have been known to buy yet another gun just because somebody posted a PICTURE of one on a gun forum :D

do that count ?
(gosh that's a nice picture in post #16)

I once bought a large box full of assorrted oddball ammunition from an old WWII vet who was cleaning out his attic and his wife said to get rid of it. Within a year or two I had a closet full of old, oddball rifles and pistols to fit the ammo. :)

My wife watches me more closely now. :(

I found a picture in a magazine with a 1895 guide gun....the rest is history

I found a great deal on a .22 conversion kit for a Sig P226.

Shortly after that a Sig P226 followed me home.

Of course none of this would have happened if I hadn't already been thinking of getting a Sig. ;)

Guilty as charged. I bought a couple holsters for my SR9c a month or so ago and... since most of them were made for a Glock 26 anyways...well you can see the rational conclusion I came to...

So as of last weekend am I am now the proud owner of a Glock 26 and 22.
Ain't it great to be American?

My first response was *no*, then I happen to think that I did buy a G26 to go with my G19, and sell my LCR to narrow ammo spending. I just happen to like semis better than wheel guns anyways.
