Everglades FMJ

Yep, working great when I have my press set right (new progressive is giving me some fits)

Using them in 45acp. Been issuing quite a bit of rmr bullets with great success as well. Once I'm through my 2000 Everglades that I've got left in 45 I'll be switching to rmr. Already made the switch in nine which I shoot considerably more

The reason I would switch is if the quality is there, the pricing is there, and I can combine more of the sales I shoot to one order the better.

That is the only reason. Everglades 45acp had been trearing me well also.

I shot my first loads of Everglades 115gr 9mm FMJ, Monday evening. Very nice shooting. I’m still new to reloading, but these rounds loaded nicely, plunked nicely, chambered nicely, and shot...well, nicely. I have no complaints. I sprung for the 4000 unit special. $269 (had to sneak that by) free shipping. The packaging was amazing. They did not spare the packing tape. They fit 68lbs into a heavy cardboard box packed into a USPS “if it fits, it ships” box, and both boxes arrived intact.

Totally satisfied with these bullets. I suppose I have to be, as I’ll be shooting them a long time. Nonetheless, I loaded them with HP-38, 3.7gr to 4.1gr, by 0.1gr increments. Shot the 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9gr loads. Still have the 4.0 and 4.1gr loads to test. The 3.8s and 3.9s felt very similar with decent placement (for me...no crack shooter) out of my Kimber Micro 9. I can say it was a pleasure shooting those rounds. I may try the 3.7gr load again a little shorter...I went with 1.105”, maybe try 1.06”, but the 3.9gr did everything I wanted it to do, so who knows? I’m also going to try them with VV N-320. Trying to find a soft load that my wife can shoot out of the Kimber M9.

Everglades 115gr 9mm FMJ ... HP-38 ... Shot the 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9gr loads. 1.105” ... Still have the 4.0 and 4.1gr loads to test. Kimber Micro 9 ... 3.9 gr did everything I wanted it to do, so who knows?
Are you sure you are not using 124 gr FMJ?

With different 115 gr FMJ bullets loaded to 1.110"-1.135", I can't reliably cycle the slides of my Glocks below 4.4 gr of W231/HP-38. 4.5 gr will start to reliably cycle the slide and 4.6 starts to produce better accuracy with 4.8 gr producing best accuracy.

With 124 gr plated RN and FMJ, around 4.3 gr W231/HP-38 at 1.135"-1.145" will reliably cycle the slide and produce accuracy.

BTW, here are load data for 115 gr Lead RN, 124 gr plated RN and 125 gr FMJ from Hodgdon - http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol

And 115 gr FMJ and 124 gr Lead RN/FMJ from 1999 Winchester load data - http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=159609&stc=1&d=1329800605

They are priced very attractively. I would like to hear of any experience with them.

I haven't bought any of their 115 FMJ bullets but I did get a pack of 500 115 JHP bullets from them. They measured out at 0.355" diameter and loaded with no problems. They feed with no jams and I am VERY pleased with them. I will buy more when these are shot up and I really like Everglades' free shipping.

Absolutely certain...I’ve even weighed out several hundred bullets to get a feel for variation in the weights. So far, 113.8gr to 116.2gr, well within SAAMI specs. These first rounds that I fired were 114.7gr and 115.0gr. I’m trying to work up very soft loads that cycle well, with reasonable accuracy, so I can get my wife accustomed to handling a small 9.

Cycled perfectly in my Kimber Micro 9, which I’m still breaking in. I chose to go below “starting” load intentionally. I have a lot of these bullets on hand, and multiple powders to select from. In my prior testing, using 115gr Berry’s CPRN, my best loads were at 4.1gr HP-38 from my Beretta 92FS. But my wife doesn’t like the weight or the grip, so I bought the Kimber.

My very first loads, 115gr Berry’s CPRN, 3.8gr to 4.1gr HP-38, would not cycle my 92FS...took the gun completely apart...to the bare frame...cleaned, lubed, reassembled...these same rounds then fired and cycled beautifully.

If price is a top selection factor, have you considered coated bullets? I've shot thousands of Bayou 115gr loaded with 4.5gr HP-38/W231 @ 1.100 COL. They're accurate, they don't tumble and cost $67 per 1K box. I also like MBC.

I use them for 40 cal 165 grain jacketed. These aren't plated and I've had good success with them. I am waiting for them to offer 357 sig jacketed bullets.

I'm the owner of RMR and everything on our website includes shipping. We try our hardest to be the best quality and price for match quality American made jacketed bullets. We can't always compete with some of the foreign low quality stuff, but in my opinion we sell the best jacketed 9mm you can buy. Also, THR members can take advantage of thehighroad5 5% off coupon code.

It’s quite refreshing to have a manufacturer taking a personal interest in discussions centered around their product, as well as their competitors. That you’ve been a member of this site for 10 years is a tribute to your dedication to the sport, and your service to the shooting community. I haven’t been loading long enough to have placed many bullet orders, and it isn’t always about the cheapest price. Quality and service have a value of their own, which cannot be reduced to dollars and cents. I look forward to ordering my first RMR bullets in the near future. It won’t be 115gr 9mm, as I don’t expect to need any for quite some time. I’ll be certain to check out other products in your catalog. As an aside...I wasn’t aware of your 5% discount to THR members until after my large purchase from a competitor. Much appreciated gesture!

Bat Rastard asked:

Yep.

Several thousand to be specific. No complaints here. Of course, I am not a long-distance benchrest target shooter. But, for off-hand shooting at distances of 200 yards or less, I have found no reason to object to their performance.

I did not see any 38 SWC in any form on your site. Did I miss that? That bullet and 9mm 124 make up the majority of my pistol loads.
Thanks!

I have no connection to any of the bullet sellers or manufacturers. I have bought LOTS of 9 mm from RMR and haven't beat their price any where else. The quality is good and so is delivery.
I like Dardas for cast bullets, they are competitive on price and have good quality also.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

We can make lead cast SWC if you need it. We kinda moved away from lead cast because we found that it really didn't pay enough to justify imprisoning an employee in the lead room all day long. But we can do it.

I'm not sure, but I thought that I was a member long before 2008. Is it possible that 2008 is when the new THR was launched? I learned most everything I know about reloading from THR. Several of the guys I used to love learning from have since died and left us to try to fill their boots. Sometimes I wish we still had some of the old timers here to help answer questions. THR is home for me. I don't post as often as I would like to and I don't check the forum as often as I used to, but I'm here several times a week when things aren't going crazy.

I get my swaged .38 bullets and 9mm 115gr JHP’s from Precision Delta. Their prices and quality are unequaled.
However, I have gotten some 110gr .308” FMJ’s for my .30carbine from rmr and they outshot Sierra’s from my Rifle.
I’ll soon be trying some of rmr’s 9mm 124gr FNFMJ and 124gr JHP to see how they compare as prices are comparable with similar products given thr discount. Besides, I really like the looks of the fnfmj. Very similar to the RSW original load for the 9mm circa 1908... Had a nasty reputation with the French who protested and Germany went to the RNFMJ.

I ordered RMR, They look great on paper. I expect they will look great on my porch rather quickly. Jake seems like a great guy.

I tried 500 coated from one place, i wasn't impressed.
I shot 1000s of plated from many places, great stuff.
RMR has jacketed priced competitively with plated. That has to be a winning ticket.
