I would like to hear any real world shooting results (Against human targets) you have personally observed or experenced.

Not looking to get into a flame war. Just looking for statistics and first hand observations.

Firearm used
Ammo used
rounds on target
distance
results
etc...

Mine:
I have only used 5.56, out to about 300 meters. (SS109) 5-7 rounds center mass to put them down.

I did not personally witness but was there when the 9mm FMJ took 13 rounds,
last 2 to the head 5 meters to contact range.

FMJ 7.62x51 bursts work, as do single shots, from under 100 meters out to several hundred.

40mm rounds work well:cool:

as does the SMAW:what:

The .50 will go through a Brick wall and THEN kill you.:banghead:

Please contribute if you can.

Hi Nomad,

This type of posting is pretty common by new members. While you have written yours with much thought, most of these types of postings are written rather poorly like: "How many people have you shot?" They usually get ignored.

Most people who have been involved in shootings, whether SD, military or LE-related, tend not to discuss them via open forum.

Never shot anyone, but street paramedic and ER nurse. Short version--don't get shot! Ya' just never know, .25's kill, .22's kill, heard about .38's being stopped in back muscle. Buddy was doin hospital clinicals when a guy showed up at ER with a headache and a "large" head. Turns out he's stuck a .308 rifle in his mouth and pulled the trigger, 3 days earlier, attempted suicide. Bullet never exited. He died days lated. Seen through & through's by .22lr to the chest. Seen a .22 to right temple from .22 LR rifle, point-blank. Did a 90 degree turn and was lodged under the skull top-dead-center. Brain had already started shifting (bad sign). Kid was discharged 10 days later with no deficit. Triaged a big bad psycho dude the other day that a couple years ago was shot 5 times with 357 COM. Still carrying at least 2 slugs and still dangerous.

Usta tell new EMS people- be damned good at what you do and then walk away after doing your best. It's between them and God!

Stay safe.
Bob
