i used a friends a few times. the selector comes loose every few shots and puts the tubes in neutral.

pretty crummy for the cost

I think they are pretty cool. A friend of mine put his first one through the paces, it held up well but he had a VFG on it and the force of slamming it back and forth broke the pump piece (which KelTec replaced for free).

I wish the quality was a bit better but they are still loads of fun, no more than usual recoil and if you use the Aguila short rounds you can get like 20+ rounds in it and it cycles them pretty well.

Only way to know for sure is to own one.

That said, reports seem to indicate they are more about 'show' than 'go' so far. Quality of materials and manufacture seems to be hit or miss.

If it's a range toy, none of that matters. If it's something you might have to stake your life on, you might want to think about it differently.

I just picked up a brand new KSG Gen 2 for $889 ($800 +$64 tax + $25 transfer fee).
So far I have shot 50 rounds of Federal 2.75" 00 buckshot, 40 rounds of Winchester 2.75" 1oz slugs, 100 rounds of Winchester 2.75" #7 birdshot, and 20 rounds of Aguila 1.75" 7/8oz slugs through it. No stoppages or malfunctions.
I'm having fun with it, so for me it has been worth the money.
