My LGS made a mistake with my special order and now I have a Magpul K Grip for a AR. I am trying to decide what to do with it...use it, toss it into my growing unused parts box, or pass it on to someone else?

I think what has me questioning whether to use it is the straighter grip. I am seeking comments from those who have used / are using it.

I dumped my moe grips in favor of the k2. I really like the more vertical angle a lot more, both from the bench and offhand. I am tall And I shoot the traditional style, rather than the more modern, short stock, square to the target style.

I have the K+ rubberized model on my HD rifle and it definitely feels better than a standard with the stock collapsed. My preference for offhand shooting, but not getting rid of my ERGO grips for bench.

It Is a small LGS that didn’t have Magpul FDE furniture in stock. I paid for them when I special ordered the parts. I originally was going to have them send it back but after reading the comments here and watching some YouTube videos I figure what the heck I’ll try it I might like it.

The LGS owner did offer me the grip I wanted but they are a young couple trying to make a go at it. As a @GunnyUSMC cult member I foresee a lot of AR builds in the future some of which will be going to family members so even if I don’t like it someone else might.

My son hurt his wrist a few years back and finds the K grip feels better. It just do anything for me. I prefer the MOE grip, but don’t care for the plus.
This is my son’s favorite setup.

+1

Agreed, same here! However, while the MOE K2 is certainly pretty good already, I actually like the BCM Gunfighter mod 3 grip slightly better. Slightly better design all-around, IMHO. Probably any future non-retro AR builds that I do will wear BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 grips.

Well dang it to everything! If I decide I like the K Grip better I am to end up with a bunch of the other grips needing a new home.

We got hit with a lot of rain yesterday and all of today so far which means Mancave Day. I spent all afternoon playing, er changing and swapping, with my Legos, er parts, on my AR’s. I don’t have a opinion yet on the K Grip but it was easy to install and looks good. It is definitely smaller than the MOE and A2 grips.

I prefer the more vertical grip for AR pistols and short stock guns. There are many alternatives that offer this such as B5 systems, Hogue 15 degree, Magpul MOE SL ... the list goes on. K2 is one of my favorites, but there are many more to try.

I have the K2 on a 14.5" tactical AR. I really like the angle. It also find it more natural.

I use the K grip on the lightest shorties I have and especially like it on the slick side no forward assist ones. On a 10" AR pistol weighing 5 pounds or less they really shine. On My heavier, larger units I like a more supportive grip .Thats a K2
